Pulis sacked by West Brom.
Another opportunity for Mr Dyche hopefully - although it pains me to say that our neighbours might now be seen as a better option than the baggies :(

No doubt it's the Megson effect! He's been there since July.... and now he's caretaker manager!! Heaven help the baggies if he wins the next few matches and they give him the job!

I'd imagine anyone putting money on Pulis being sacked at the start of the season would have got pretty good odds. I know he's having a bad run and his football is functional rather than exciting but it appears to me that the WBA supporters calling for his head have ideas above their station. Rather like our lot stupidly booing Allardyce when 3-0 against Wolves! (I don't think that I'll ever be able to understand and forget that..... and certainly not forgive it. The predictably disastrous consequences have borne out my opinion fully) Boing boing baggies being a running joke with WBA until just a few years ago.

Doubt WBA can afford Dyche tbh cos it appears that even Everton couldn't! Every club (out of the big 6) who need a Manager are immediately linked with him yet nothing ever comes of it. If Dyche isn't on a significant %age of Burnleys approx 100m income then I'd be very surprised. May even be that Dyche might earn more than the Rovers total annual income! Who could ever have foreseen that a decade ago?

My niece and her boyfriend just called around with a piece of furniture. Anyway that's irrelevant, the point being that he's praying for city to win this afternoon. Some sort of a 6 match prediction accumulator will see him win 10k! Apparently before the match he could have cashed out for £2300 but he elected to let it ride.

2 - 1 to City. How much do they win?

10k
No idea how it works except that you have to name 6 winners with both teams scoring. Rovers was one of his choices as was Wolves v Bolton and Huddersfield v Citeh. No idea who the rest were.

Is this the worst punditry lineup in MOTD history? You’ve got Wrong Said Fred (Shearer and Murphy), Ian Wright, Phil Neville and Jermaine Jenas. And the innocuous but no less ponderous Kilbane and Keown. Not an original thought between them.
Know I'm biased but I think Shearer is decent. Has a nervous tick where he gets a quarter of the way through a sentence then start it again. But that aside he's more emotive than he used to be and content-wise is always on the money. And I hate to say this but I don't think Murphy's bad either. Can stomach Wright but I agree on the rest, very bland.

My real bug bears these days are the pundits on match commentary. Sky's Alan Smith and Don Goodman are awful. Utterly boring and utterly nonsensical. And now they seem to being adding the arrogant Carragher into the mix as if its not enough putting up with him just in the studio.

People will disagree because of his PNE loyalty but I usually find Mark Lawrenson's opinions to be mostly bang on.

My thoughts precisely!

He/she deserves a couple of years with Steve Kean in charge.

They need to make sure that they are still in the Prem first.

Is that based on 1989? Just commented on that elsewhere yesterday on some fans still holding a grudge against Palace. I guess that's based on the way their fans behaved that day though the result itself was more the referees fault. While I can imagine how badly people felt that evening it didn't really matter for long did it? Not like the 1960 final for instance which the club suffered after effects from for years though I don't think anyone really blamed Wolves. Of course I hold grudges against certain people and certain clubs so I'm not criticising. It just seems like its all based on one game which fortunately didn't really matter in the long run.
