The nostalgic, whistful in me says yes. The pragmatic realist in me says no. Professional football is harsh environment and has no place for the former dave. Plus we already have one CF of experience on the books.
Sometimes goalies and defensive players can get away with advancing years where anticipation and nous can go a long way but not centre forwards and wingers where pace and strength is the primary requirement. Crickets in the news over there I'd assume :(so think fast bowlers and spinners for a comparison.

Totally agree Drog. If Dave's looking for an Australian connection, I think Lucas Neil and/or Bret Emerton reincarnated would be a better fit!
Wind the clock back a dozen or so years and those 2 as full backs would be just what the doctor ordered.
Oh for a Kevin Hird and John Bailey........

The reason I brought him up, apart from leaving Melb City was that he really wants to go to the world cup, and he's not getting the playing time with them.
Sign him til the end of the season. He's a really positive person to have in the sheds, still scoring goals, which can't be a bad thing.

You think Danny Murphy what?
Should be made to pay every penny back that he robbed off Rovers?
Should be sacked as a pundit because he is a wanker?
Should be shot?

I'm happy with all of those options - cheating little scum bag that only Orr comes close too as ex-"players"
You haven't given Vinjay your password have you steve?

Oz answer to Roger Milla perhaps?

No.

We've been down this road too many times in recent years, just think Robbie Fowler & Danny Murphy & Wes Brown then have a lie down. Time to move away from all that for good.

Unless Steve Archibald fancies a game or two :grinning:

In this instance the motive appears to be selection for the WC as apposed to a final paycheck.
Goal ratio is still good, if Wiki is to be believed 2017 up with his best he has achieved.
He appears to have been playing at the top of a diamond MF at club level, would he fit in under Mowbray? without the square peg in a round hole selection issues.
The national manager bent over backwards to get him to Honduras, still rated highly enough by him it seems.
Given all the points mentioned by others and his history of ankle injuries, No! would be the safe bet a massive gamble, however he just may be worth a flutter in this case to achieve that promotion.

Trouble is in agreeing to sign a guy like that given his intentions you'd probably have to cast iron guarantee him games. Then he may take the view i'm playing regularly to prove my fitness which is what the Int coach asked but i'm not going to bust a gut and risk getting injured.

Causes too many issues as you'd have to be fitting him in the team somewhere all the time whether he was doing the business or not.

Money better spent elsewhere imo.
