Thanks Al. I still ‘lurk’ on this site a fair bit to gauge folks’ opinions on a variety of matters. I don’t post too much on brfcs these days as, to be honest, I’ve fallen out of love with the game I once knew and grew up with. All this backwards-sideways-backwards stuff is nauseating.

Thanks Steve! 🥰 I can’t, and don’t want to, take any credit for Revidge’s superb letter. I just added my name to add a bit of weight to the matter in hand, as did den. Since then, more folk have obviously added their names. A few of us were ‘in the background’ for advice etc. but it wasn’t...

Sorry Maj, only just seen your post. We stayed in Plakias, a very small village/resort on the south coast. Mountains and a couple of gorges behind the village, very picturesque. Nothing much to do there other than sunbathe on the beach or by the pool possibly a bit of walking. We just wanted to...

I would say 10%+ is spectacular enough Al.

    Rovers away followings this season

Not sure where you're going with this. Shrewsbury is a historic market town with an attractive town centre and several black and white timbered buildings amidst the curving River Severn. The point I am trying to make is that it's a pleasant sort of place, there are good pubs as well as eateries...

I would imagine they do but those in Shrewsbury look to be quite nice and not the sort where you may think, bloody hell, I'm not going in there.

What Music do you listen to?

Coldplay in Cardiff were superb. Had a nightmare with tickets that looked increasingly dodgy as the gig approached. Luckily, my Mrs got refunded through PayPal and managed to get another two via EBay, slightly cheaper. Amazingly, we were sat in almost same seats as when we beat Spurs 2-1. Only...

Quality BB. They're all true as well!

Match day lucky charms or evil omens

I used to break wind seven times going through the turnstiles. I had a few accidents, I can tell you.

I'll be definitely going to Shrewsbury on the train. As BB says, a lovely town with plenty of pubs. Been on Gay Meadow but not the new ground. Train wise, it's Preston to Crewe then change for Shrewsbury another 30 mins away.

you've never lived then!:blush: Last time I went in there, it was a Dingle running it. Was a few years ago, though.

I used to call him the wee babby. Should have been the wee, thick babby.

    Holiday Destinations

Went to Riga (Latvia) for a city break in January, Mexico for eleven nights in March and Crete for a week in May. Off to Lloret/Perpignan to watch Wigan RLFC on Friday for three nights, Scilly Isles for a few days in August and then back to Mexico for two weeks in November. Just keep raiding...

    New Kit

Forgot to ask if anyone has recently seen the 1960 Cup Final shirt in the club shop? There were a series of old replica shirts in there a few seasons back but I suspect they have stopped doing them now. I had two of the Cup Final shirts, one from the club shop and my first from Toffs, who still...

Not bad Steve but my favourite was the 1960 Cup Final shirt, short sleeved and with a v neck. Played in a very similar version in the early 60s!
