    Rovers Inaugural ‘Hall of Fame’

I am sure I remember reading that his last match in charge was beating Bumleh, then he died that very night?

Just putting this out there...What would it imply about Bowyer, if he did accept instructions from Pune about who to pick? Didn't a certain scottish reptile follow similar instructions...just to keep a job for which he was well under-qualified?

Maybe, King was being played out of position, given a bit part, but there were times, when he looked like a headless..sorry to say..chicken though. Away from home, his pace was a real asset...but the King we saw against Stoke in the cup was a revelation..

I remember the unseemly general "delight" when Lambert was appointed. That said so much...

Rovers In The Papers & Media

I think I have done some revisionism about Gary Bowyer. At first, his virtue was that he was not Steve Kean. He seemed honest and with the club at heart. On reflection, given the players he had at his disposal, he was a dismal failure. Think of that squad/all those goals...never in the play off...

Me too...I was totally sucked in by the appointment. I think there is a lot we still don't know about what went on. He certainly didn't have TM's emotional intelligence or man management...and his football stunk...I presumed the last bit was because he wasn't allowed to make the replacements he...

Haha..If only Pope had written "The Rape of the Club"....(and before anyone challenges me for being politically incorrect, see title of Pope's original poem)

I OMG..I have just read Geedog's first post.."you sick individual" etc. Unfortunately, it is an area I have had to become all too familiar with. I apologise, if I gave you the impression I was seeking to minimise the trauma and the emotional, psychological damage. Far, far from it.! I do...

Newcastle United v Rovers F.A. Cup Round Three

Exactly what I said. No-one is comparing the damage, but does anybody go on about cardinals in Rome being badly advised or naive..or any of the other Stockholm cliches? Certainly nobody with any analysis would give those in Rome a free pass on their culture of secrecy...but as for the ones in...

Newcastle United v Rovers F.A. Cup Round Three

Think process not actual damage! Power from afar, secrecy, closing down, silencing and punishing whistleblowers, misuse of power, refusal to listen etc, the parallels are there. Those who have ears will hear!

Newcastle United v Rovers F.A. Cup Round Three

Re The fools and money argument, for me it gives them almost a free pass. I don't buy that for one instant. The bastards were told repeatedly and arrogantly dismissed and marginalised anyone, who tried to blow the whistle. At the very least, Venky's are akin to the arrogant cardinals, miles...

Newcastle United v Rovers F.A. Cup Round Three

Yes, I am sure there are fickle fans and I am sure there are demographic reasons in this town. I am also in no doubt that there are people, who turned the backs on the club in anger and disgust. Blimey, I was one of them! Even after Kean, Singh, Anderson, Kentaro, Berg etc...there was...

Yes.He sorted MacDougall good style.I think he "accidentally" trod on his hand as well. Shame, I heard he was now suffering from dementia-like Jeff Astle etc
