About bloody time too! Hope they lock him up in the same cell as Bin Laden!

Just as with islamic atrocities against women I notice the liberal wusses keep schtum on the damage this bugger has done to the wonderful nation of Rhodesia which he inherited took over.

Said a while back that stupid liberals supported him at the time so that's probably why. He was their independence hero.

These people might not be any better though I'm no expert on the situation. One thing I know about African coups however is they are often just as bad or worse.

Don't forget Dianne Abbott and her admiration of Chairman Mao. She made the case that he did more good than harm , despite the fact in his 'Great Leap Forward ' Mao killed 45 million in four years

That's leftie liberal logic in a nutshell

So Mugabe's gone! Lots of hot air being wasted discussing this way and that but I've not yet heard one interviewer ask the question 'is Zimbabwe a better country now for it's people than it was as Rhodesia under Ian Smith'?

btw for the younger members the question can be described as rhetorical.

Like I've said before though African coups aren't always known for their track record of being anything better. Idi Amin was replaced by the guy he originally ousted who didn't exactly have a stunning human rights record either. The guy who has replaced Mugabe was involved in many of the same things. I guess its not the ending Mugabe wanted but those celebrating that also seem to think its a one way ticket to prosperity.

EDIT-Should have read the above a little more closely! Sounds like I was disagreeing when it looks like we are on the same wavelength!

If you read the article in The Times today he is a nasty piece of work with much blood on his hands. It is all about power NOT democracy.

It's always the same in Africa. "Freedom Fighter" topples despot, likes the power and money, persecutes the group who persecuted him, becomes the thing he fought against in the first place. Some other "Freedom Fighter" from the other side topples him, likes the power and money, persecutes the group that persecuted him, becomes the thing he fought against.. Rinse, repeat.

They'll be back in the exact same situation within the next 5 years guaranteed.

Ditto for much of South America.

There are some differences such as Mandela of course. Though that wasn't a coup and apartheid was ended due to a combination of factors (including international condemnation) and the ruling party negotiating with the ANC. Obviously violence was an influence too and the country was still considered to be under a "state of emergency" right up until the abolishment. I'm not sure if violence declined in the final year or two as the timing of the abolishment itself was a surprise. Infact most people were expecting Mandela's release that day to be the story and instead that came shortly afterwards.

Obviously its been overshadowed by Mugabe's reign ending but Ratko Mladic of the Balkans was jailed today at the International War Crimes Court. Been coming for ages though ever since being captured after years of living as a fugitive.

You will be relieved to learn that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge won't miss the Royal Variety performance tonight held in a venue in close proximity to Oxford Circus.

Oh and nobody has been killed either. Looks like its all been a false alarm.

As they seem to have caught this piece of shit, perhaps it would be appropriate for the police to be “distracted” and let the locals loose on it

Oh I'm sure these days he could claim damages from the taxpayer for a violation of his human rights if the police so much as let the locals shout a swear word at him.

I'd like to think the vermin would be in for a long sentence. Attacking a 96 year old with a weapon is a totally unnecessary addition to stealing from him. That kind of psychotic callousness should be severely punished. As ever though I'll try to avoid seeing the pathetic sentence he actually does get to keep from bursting a blood vessel in anger.
