The wise would learn from it though.
Anyway it's long gone as you say but it's not irrelevant to where we are now tbh is it?
Well perhaps not Gord, but we cant change it and arguing "if this" or "if that" is a bit pointless IMO
Even if you are 100% correct (and I do favour your argument) what does that achieve?

Unfortunately its the opposite of irrelevant. 5-10 minutes sat in any stand at Ewood and you realise the same old clowns are still expecting us to Barcelona our way to a 3-0 win every single game.

The next time we get a considerably overachieving manager playing industrial football, we'll get exactly the same "hoofball shite", "4-4-2, 4-4-2, 4-4-2", "I'm not renewing my season ticket to watch this rubbish" nonsense from half the fanbase and probably end up getting another pretty football joker in charge to reverse the progress made.
I'd imagine it's much the same with Abbey's 86 other clubs.
btw Anybody else rem the chants of 4-4-2, 4-4-2 directed at Fergie when we beat em with those two crackers from Pederson.... who ironically was also deemed to be no good by mainly the same people. Football fans are rarely satisfied.

One game in the FA cup vs 15 seasons in the Premier League.... It's truly amazing that no PL clubs have turned to Daniel Farke to keep them in the Prem this season - maybe the fact Norwich are 13th in the Championship with as many defeats as they've had wins.

Repeat to oblivion.......
Daft this yah boo sucks to you argument. No team has played better passing, one touch football than Arsenal over the Wenger years but his team got 8 thumped past em at Old Trafford. What does that say to you in the context of this debate Abbey?

Thank you for that well constructed and informative sentence outlining your opinion on the matter waggy. I must say it brings so much to the debate.:poop:

Here you go. You need to set it to week 16 or 17 (11th and 12th)

https://www.premierleague.com/tables?co=1&se=19&ha=-1
Be a shame to waste you finding the league when SA was sacked, Drog.

Manchester United - £27m
Arsenal - £21m
Man City - £164m
Chelsea - £109m
Spurs - £24m
Sunderland - £26m
Bolton - £5m
Newcastle - £13m
Liverpool - £88m
Blackpool - £5m
West Brom - £12.5m
Blackburn - £0
Stoke - £19m
Everton - £1.5m
Villa - £34m
Birmingham - £23m
Fulham - £10m
Wigan - £10.2
Wolves - £18m
West Ham - £14m

Obviously we were bottom of the spend table. Honourable mentions to Blackpool and Bolton at that stage of the season - although Blackpool ended up relegated and Bolton one place above us having lost their last 5 games of the season.

Everton finished 7th which is very admirable based on their spend - although they were a much more stable outfit having had Moyes for 10 years or so.

Oh, and just in case anyone was interested, the following season we spent £18m and went down with barely a whimper

I guess the only sensible course of action was to wind up the club once Big Sam left. How ever did we exist without him?
Time might actually render that a prophecy.:(
