Sam Hart, a left back from a Liverpool on a two year deal
https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2017/august/sam-im-so-excited-to-join/

Plus a centre half from MK Dons on season long loan. The Motherwell lad went to Sheffield Utd (perhaps instead of Lenihan).

Nobody of any note leaving, thought one or more of Lenihan, Mulgrew or Graham would have left but happy to see them all stay.
Nobody of note......but at least Feeney went to Cardiff

Left back and Centre Back were the ones we needed but I've never heard of the ones we've signed. We'll have to wait and see.
The best news is Feeney going to Cardiff but the bad news is that it's only a 6 month loan and he could be back in January when Cardiff suss him out.

Pleased we signed a left-back and cover at CB as both were needed. I have no clue whether they are any good but we will find out!

Happy to have kept our better players as well, which is obviously quite the shock as normally they get flogged off.

All in all a decent window, now lets see whether they can do the business on the pitch.

On reflection I think this has been as good a window as we could have hoped for with the way the finances are. The best bit is that we didn't lose any players of any importance and we did get cover at left back and centre back that was needed. How good they are remains to be seen. I'm not just referring to the deadline day but the whole close season. From what I've seen up to now Dack is a good signing, we have two very promising strikers in Samuel and Nuttall and Chapman looks an absolute gem. It would be great if we could keep him and he is in the last year of his contract.
As I mentioned above we have not lost any of our better players from last season so we SHOULD be in a good position for the rest of the season. I am reasonably pleased with the close season we have had.

The owners have screwed us up without a doubt but that window wouldn't have been quite so good would it Al if they had adopted the napm mantra too. I've no idea why they haven't so a little (cautious:confused:) credit where it's due perhaps?

I'm puzzled that two experienced and fairly successful managers in Warnock and Redknapp , have signed two players , Feeney and Lowe who probably 90% of our supporters wouldn't want in the team and are glad to see go. Especially Feeney , on loan to Cardiff, a team top of the division above us, and with 5 wins out of 5 . Do these guys know more about football than 90% of our fans ?

The new signings ? Not heard of any of them so reserve comment . The best bit of work we've done is keeping Mulgrew - still have an inkling that he'd make a good player/manager at sometime in the future

It's a question of how long it takes Warnock to suss Feeney out. I fear he'll come back like a boomerang. It's the second time I thought I'd got rid of him.
I'm chuffed about keeping Mulgrew too. That's a good point about him making a good player/manager too. He seems an intelligent guy.
I heard he only came here because his wife is a local girl and wants to live in the area when he retires so we could keep him for a while.

Feeney is a weird one cos like Al I saw little in him 1st time around and even less second attempt. Maybe Warnock has ideas to use him as a 2nd half impact sub. Colin's not everyone's cup of tea but underestimate his motivational skills at your peril!
As for Lowe and as I've said all along he's a player's player. The supporters don't see silky skills and a wide range of passing but he does lots of graft in midfield and his defensive mentality means that he's excellent at tracking back and covering for teammates who may have been drawn up the field and find themselves wrong side of the ball on occasion. The fact that every Rovers manager for years has put Lowe's name on the team sheet before many others must confirm that many of the supporters simply don't have a bloody clue about the game. In fact people's dislike of Lowe has been spread along the terracing rather than anything he's done on the pitch. He's become the current victim of the Ewood virus which presents the supporters with another problem.... now he's gone and his natural successor has also left and gone to Cardiff who will be the next figure for the crowd to adopt as the necessary hate figure? My money's on Whittingham but tbh that's just a hunch as we all must know that actual ability plays little part in it all.

You are of course wrong but one question Amo...... How would you know?

I think it's quite telling that the two clubs who had J-Lo on trial (West Brom and Bolton) both passed up on him after seeing his 'abilities' and the one club to take him deemed him only worthy of a one year deal.

I heard from a pretty good source that Lowe (or to be more precise his agent) were just asking for too much.
He was offered a contract at Ewood but obviously on much less than previous and turned it down

As for the new hate figure
It will be Nyambe - people were getting at him on Tues when he was getting some experience at CB (which may prove invaluable. Williams also)
He is a kid for christ sake

Most telling thing is as I said last season ..... Jason Lowe will be playing at a higher level than BRFC next year.

If he's playing at all! It's not guaranteed.
Not that I consider him crap. He just average as far as I am concerned. I wasn't upset when he wasn't retained and in fact I believe he was offered a deal but wanted more money which is also I am told why West Brom and Bolton rejected him. They may be in the Championship but Big Club aren't breaking any pots and if it wasn't for cheating they would be in the 1st division and we would be in the Championship their place.

I think Rovers' fans dislike of Lowe came with him being the consistant player in the Rover's decline from grace. I don't see him as a confident player so as the team went backwards so did his performances. As he became more experienced the fans needed a local hero to stand up and drag the rest of the team with him. He was never going to be that but he fell back and played percentage football.

Feeney is another who hid and was linked to the dark side which has taken over our once proud club so the fans were never going to like him..

Both players have become poor players and would benefit from the change of club.

Another theory is that Redknapp's dog may have also seen it's bank balance benefit.
