Three players being called up gives us the option to postpone.

As two of them are Evans and Mulgrew and Fleetwood have won 3 on the spin, I think it's the right call.

A sensible decision. I hope none tells Madame she has missed on her payment from Sky TV.

Is the sky money really worth anything at this level? Even penny pinchers like Cheston aren't bothered as is evident by the decision to postpone. Personally I see it as embarrassing that Blackburn Rovers seem to be afraid of Fleetwood. Hasn't the club been embarrassed enough in recent years?

Isn't pride worth something? Over at the other place Mercer remarked that Jack Walker would be spinning in his grave at this. He's right.

At least when Middlesbrough called off that game in 1996 it was considerably worse than 3 players. OK they broke the rules at short notice (some say its what got them relegated but butterfly effect and all that) but Rovers fans had no sympathy for them did they?

It's not embarrassing .We are in same league as them ,the embarrassing thing is how they are allowed to ruin our club without any comebacks and for cheston & pasha to be free from everything.

Our captain and one of our better players are not available and it is within the rules to postpone the game so we have done so. I don't see anything embarrassing about that. It is sound common sense. You do whatever you have to do to take advantage of any situation.

OK if you call openly being scared of Fleetwood common sense. I would say the same if it was any other L1 club as well. Its no wonder part of me thinks anyone wanting to buy the club should be discouraged. The fans at times are their own worst enemy with no concept of prestige or image at all. Its the reason why "think BIG" has never caught on amongst the fanbase as a marketable slogan. Protect the image of the club at all costs especially when its been damaged enough already. If Leeds (for example) had done this while in L1 their fans would have been embarrassed.

The players should have insisted on playing the game with the scheduled date. It makes them look weak and shows a lack of faith from the manager and executive management.

There's no question of being scared. It's sound common sense to take any advantage over an opponent that you can. You go and fight with one hand tied behind your back if you wish and I'll be the first to choose you as my opponent.

Maybe they should try to bribe the referee then if that's your thinking.

I wouldn't be of any use in a fight with both hands.

Have you got proof that they didn't?

Thats just daft thinking. By losing 2/3 of our best (and key) players we are bound to be weaker. I note that you are committing one of footballs cardinal sins and underestimating the opposition (Fleetwood). I learned many years ago through bad experience never EVER to do that. I'm pretty sure vinjay that you would be the first to give em stick if they played and didn't get all 3 points.

It undermines the club and weakens its image even further. Of course you would know all about that as you were trying to undermine Jack from day 1. There's a difference between disrespecting someone and refusing to be in fear of someone.

I believe I said within the rules. I wouldn't want to cheat.

I wouldn't be of any use in a fight with both hands.
You are just about my weight then.:grinning:

Tonight is the night that the re-arranged game is on and yet so far no mention on here.

It will be interesting to see what the team will be. Chapman and Bennett out will be a huge blow.

DsD, my interest in football (in general) and the Rovers being run by their current owners, is waning by the year, (or should I say by the week).

A lot depends on the line up Mowbray puts out. Too defensive and we will lose. I'm beginning to lose faith in this manager but hope to be proven wrong.
