I'd imagine after paying the initial 10m that another 10m so close will not be easy to find. Few wealthy people have that amount of ready cash do they? Most liquid assets will be tied up in business, property investments etc these days.

Speaking of foreign owners some chinese bloke with lots of money who own's WBA has just potted John Williams and Martin Goodman today. I assume that he see's them as the fall guys for West Brom's forthcoming relegation. I bet he's never heard of "boing boing baggies" which is in effect an admission by the supporters that the club has to be relegated every few years. I think it's prob in the Articles somewhere. He'd have been better keeping them and bringing Mark Hughes in but I guess like most asian folk he'll think he knows best.

btw I wonder which flakey spiv on the make he's got advising him?

I wouldn't be at all surprised to discover that Chief Cockney Spiv Anderson has been to Burnham Beeches for a spot of lunch with Cockney Spiv No 2 Ashley already with a plan to part Mayweather from his ill gotten gains asap. Swindling some punchy old boxer out of his life savings would be irresistible to both I'd imagine. Taking candy off a baby and all that.

Another fit and proper person at Forest

Well he's not actually been convicted of anything yet.

What about Belokon's attempts to take over Blackpool? He's actually been convicted (in absentia by Kazakhstan courts he isn't under any criminal charges in England) but he's exempt from the "evil foreigner" list because he's been screwed over by the Oystons? Because Blackpool fans want him to get the club? Double standards. Belokon claims he's been set up and if people are prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt why not this guy? I don't know all the specifics granted but you immediately assume he's guilty because he's foreign and already owner of an English club. Talk about xenophobic. Of course the problem is he's presumably already in Greece. So if he is convicted its a bit more complicated than Belokon.

Marinakis is also considered to be a billionaire (whether assets or cash rich I don't know) so what's the point? We are hardly talking Escobar levels here. Forest fans wanted a takeover and having glimpsed at one of their fan forums they seem to be taking the "innocent until proven guilty" approach. Of course the 2 major problems are firstly if he is guilty but the 2nd could be how clear cut the evidence is of his guilt. Clearly the 3rd scenario is he's found innocent (though even then people can be tainted if it isn't clear cut) and obviously that's what they will be hoping for.
