One half each and run yourself into the ground might work. Surely there has to be room for two talented players.

Pick your best and only sub him when the game is metaphorically 'won' or when his energy and output falls. We need to win games, not be nice to favourite players. Davenport, Edun, Ayala, Dolan, Butterworth will all be wanting to play I'm sure but TM has been sticking with his strongest players. Either poor results, individual performances or injuries and suspensions being the only reason to change imo.
