How is your ‘Ying Yang’ for 2022/23?

Barmitzvah Boy

Global winner of the 2021 Christmas Quiz 👊🤩🤩
As a glass half empty type of chap I tend to be more Bing Bong than Ying Yang.

However, helped along by a couple of bottles West Indian Guinness, I feel rather positive about the coming season.

My seat in the JW Upper has been power washed. The urinals have been purged, and we have signed a star from Barnsley.

Life is looking up. I can’t wait to walk down Livesey Branch Road to see the masses flocking to see Roald Dahl’s blue n white army.

Mark my words a top 6 beckons. I can’t wait to celebrate with a nice lamb chop at the end of the season.

Ear we go, eat we go, ear we goo.

Any predictions ladies and gents?

I'd go a little bit further than that Al.
van Hecke would be a masterstroke, a proper forward who scores consistently, and we would be in excellent shape.
The other thing we must avoid is injuries. If we can keep our injury list to a minimum, then we'll be pushing towards the top.

Can't wait to see JDT's impact on this team.

16/17th for me. Not many goals in the team do I see and think we need 4/5 new players for starting roles.

I agree we need 4/5 new players of the correct standard. Even then injuries and suspensions will take their toll.
Looking forward to see the new management team do their stuff and will be happy with a top half finish.

Play offs for us and b***ley to face a points reduction after being placed into administration.

Only from friendly reports on here but it sounds a little like we are reverting to the slow build up passing it out from the back of two seasons ago.

It was a mixture yesterday
We did play the long diagonal ball a few times (successfully - but better opposition will soon suss that out and close down quicker)
What I did notice - and it concerned me - BBD was left marking two players from a couple of freekicks (almost like JDT thinks he has a defensive header in his repertoire) Even Lincoln worked it out and peppered that area (with bad delivery fortunately for us)
QPR et al will have all spotted it if someone with my limited insight has

I'd be more worried about the dingles if Dyche was still in charge. Mind you I think the same about the Rovers and Mowbray. Certainly Kompany is going for youth but will they have time to gel? One club which could be involved in the relegation tussle might easily be Reading with Paul Ince in charge and putting great store in older players.

I agree on both points. Burnley look likely to sell MacNeill and Cornet and with 10 other players gone Kompany has his work cut out. As the article says it’s going to be fascinating watching how both us and Burnley having recruited foreign managers and a reliance on youth get on. Most on here have predicted Reading to go down.
Btw I’ve reposted this article on the Championship Top 6 thread as it’s better suited in that one.

These journalists make me laugh, do they not do their research? There’s a reason why b***ley are buying young cheap players whilst losing established players for free or for transfer fees that the manager certainly isn’t going to see any of!

They are skint, any money coming in is USA bound. They already had to pay the bulk of that £65 million loan off.

Automatic promotion my arse.

Burnley are the new us there’re going for young potential high value one day approach. Murcic we almost signed two years ago on loan but has attitude issues apparently. Might have grown up. Twine is a player but it’s his first championship gig. Nathan Collins is a big loss, he went cheaply too. Harwood bellis is a player but I actually rated van hecke better.

reading I’ve backed to go down, when we don’t play il watch them occasionally. They’re super skint and ffp isn’t helping with there owners who have allot of money but the development around the stadium was stalled and land transferred to the owners before Yongge and co and they’ve no revenue from that.
