I'm quite jealous of the weather where you are but you know where you can stick your week long conference. When I was working they used to bore the shit out of me.

I best conference I spoke at was in Las Vegas. I went for 5 days: registered, gave a 30 min speech on day one and for the rest of the time, bar the conference dinner and drinks that I of course attended, I just shopped, drank and played Blackjack.

I was also on the Board of a health and safety organisation in the USA for 5 years. We met twice a year alternating between Washington DC (dreadful place) and Seattle. I recall going into a bar near to the White House and saying to this bloke that he worked in the Secret Service. He asked me how did I know, I responded that he was still wearing his security badge with his name and role. What a jerk, he did not like it when I laughed at him.

Sound like a Radio 2 man dave. If I want music on in the car I listen to Absolute 80's or 90's. Can anyone remember what age we were when we left Radio 1? I'd hazard a guess at 35-40. It was for me at any rate. I loved punk and New Wave but when they ran their course Acid House was the main culprit.

I stopped listening to Radio 1 when Rap became popular ( hate the stuff) and they started playing it on a regular basis , so I'm guessing early to mid 80's ? In the car I listen to Smooth and at home to Absolute Motown and 181.FM Soul

Haven't listened to radio since an Aus election in 2013.
I used Pandora for years, but they backed out of Aus earlier this year, now on Spotify with my own selection which takes in music from my formative years through to the mid 70's.
Also got another section purely for Jazz.
Must admit I'm too tight to pay for the service, though I should, then I could get it on my phone and bluetooth it in my car.

You can only get them online or via DAB. Add in Absolute Classic Rock and Absolute 70's too. Awesome radio stations.
