League 1 Challengers and 'big boys'

Putting Rovers to one side who do you think will be the main League 1 challengers this coming season? Fleetwood / Wigan / Bradford /Rochdale?

My goodness, it is so depressing thinking about it.

As for the 'big boys' (not you Abbey) the only decent following this season I guess will be Bradford. I drove past their ground on Monday.....what a dump. It will be another new ground for me along with MK Dons, Northampton and Scunthorpe.

Well I consider Wigan a major threat that's for sure. While I'm reasonably confident of a promotion challenge the problem is how many potential obstacles stand in the way. Certainly enough to prevent Rovers from walking away with the division. Finishing 3rd and losing in the playoffs certainly does not seem like an unlikely scenario.

There aren't any "big boys". Just Rovers by an absolute mile then everyone else. Though I do note examples like Charlton who are also there because of incompetence.

True - bloody sad list
I would see our BIG games as being Portsmouth, Bradford and Wigan!!

As far as Portsmouth are concerned why are they so high in the odds list to win the whole thing? Attendances or not they just came up from L2. New owner does not appear to have spent much (he should start with that dump of a ground) and for someone with a Disney background opted for the mundane choice of Jackett. For someone with a background at the "wonderful world of Disney" you would have thought someone with a bit more "razzamatazz" would be appealing. The whole supporters ownership "utopia" didn't last very long either did it?

I love the thought of a Bedknobs and Broomsticks style football match at Fratton Park.

Personally I can see where that is coming from. They'll get 20k every home game and the new owner will generate optimism right through the club 'new owner bounce' perhaps. Now compare that attitude with our situation.

I think Wigan will be challenging the top spots for sure they know what this league is about and how to get out of it. Also their fans, might not be a lot of them but they are a solid bunch and won't go into meltdown first sign of struggle, most of them brought up on rattling around the lower leagues.

Bury a dark horse maybe ?
