the fuck is going on with the club. Surely a statement should have been made, or are Venkys still asleep as usual?

What do you want a statement for Iceman? We are all aware of the general situation aren't we? Anyway what do you expect them to say that we don't already know?
The only people capable of making the statement will have to contact Pune first and from experience that might take some time. Don't forget by the time the match was over it would have been early / mid evening over there.
tbh I wouldn't bet against them all getting the sack pretty soon. The venkymob have plenty of form don't they? Willams / Finn / Goodman / Hunt (and that woman from Stoke whose name escapes me) and after selling Rhodes for 4m less than we could have got 18 months earlier Shaw only lasted until the bedside alarm went off in Pune!

yeh i know, but im waiting for the normal "we are here for the long run, we are not selling" Im clinging onto hope that they will not say that, but rather a statement that they are now putting the club up for sale. Wont happen, but fuck i need something, anything

I dred that statement 'fully commited to the club', rather do without a statement. The only one we all want is they have gone.

The club is worth nothing at this point so giving away or admin or the only things they can do, hanging on to us makes no sense however this is venky world.....

Can't believe I'm hearing people say they're looking forward to next season. Are they are glue? if not they should be.

TM will walk, we wont have a squad and fixture n fitting will be sold on eBay. Fully expect to be battling relegation next season.

Why would Tony Mowbray automatically walk? He's recently served in L1, so it's not like it's an embarrassment for him. The only way I see him walking is if the owners don't commit to rebuilding the squad (which will be shortly depleted) which means they'll have to spend some money. As it is L1, probably not an incredible amount of money either.

I'm hoping the Raos give Mowbray a few million. I think he's the man to get us back up if they give him a free hand and get the bean counters and others out of the locker room. Let him build his team. It will be a competent one, especially if they move quickly and give him the benefit of a squad with a real pre-season (something that seems to have been lacking in the last few years).

I recognize this is a dream and maybe overly positive. I'm just hoping they'll make the right call, for once.

Already looking forward to next season. Big fish in a small pond and expecting a promotion charge turn into a procession. Think some of the "boycotters" will be back by next spring.

Depends of the finances. Rem we will be on a minus figure as the cost of supporting the BRFC set up will be massive compared to the behind the scenes spending by smaller clubs. Commercially I'd look at...
1. Renting out Brockhall and make the facilities available to other local football / rugby clubs.
2. Maximising revenue from the facilities at Ewood by pushing hard at the conference centre market and maximising the function rooms. As for the suites behind the Clayton and Douglas ends they could be offered as small prestige office facilities.

Might be drops in the bucket income level when we were in the Prem but now they could be vital.

Think you're in for a shock. Half the squad is out of contract or going back to their parent clubs. The better players will be sold to fill the gap in the finances and the only ones we will have left are the crap noone wants to buy. We'll be on a diet of frees, crap loanees from the Championship that the parent clubs don't mind paying the wages of and whatever kids we have left after the vultures have picked the Naymbe's, Mahoney's and Lenihans off. That won't get us out of League 1, just as it didn't get us out of the Championship. We are more likely to fall out of the other end than bounce straight back. Especially if we lose Mowbray and spend half the Summer looking for a new manager. Again.

Honestly, it's as if some people haven't been paying attention for the last 7 years.

I like this. Staying positive is critical to good mental health. And with luck, maybe it'll happen.

Like someone said on Radio Lancashire changing so many of the squad means things might get off to a slow start. Don't know how many Forest, Leeds, Sheffield W, etc changed but none found it easy did they? Even Man City didn't got off to a slow start in 1998-99 and had to get through a very eventful playoff final. Most of those clubs had financial limitations at the time but were not starved to the extent Rovers have been. Also in some of those cases the debt wasn't owed to one person/family which in some cases is a positive thing because its usually the benefactor model. Or in Rovers case (under Venkys at least) the complete fuck up model. The difference is Venkys might keep the club out of admin (unlike any bank) so we don't know when they might "call it in" could be at any moment. Of course anyone who is sane and not spiteful would just take what they get and sod off.

I imagine the Bank of India and Venkys have a positive relationship as relates to their core business. They changed to that for a reason really not convinced they might make the call.

Who the hell invented cordial? Complete garbage.

I was going to like your post Vinjay until the final sentence which isn't very cordial is it?

It all started for me in Division Three. A long time ago. Don Martin, Bobby Svarc, Kevin Hird, John Bailey, Tony Parkes, Stuart Metcalf. Shame to be back down amongst the dead legs, but it is richly deserved by the Raos.

Dreading our team for next season!

Can't really be punished if you don't care anyway.

On Radio Lancs it was said that we might "enjoy it" at least if there's a challenge for promotion. Well it won't be boring (which probably was the point being made) but to me I can't help thinking just how appalled Jack would be by the whole situation. Its an embarrassment to see his statue, stadium and indeed this football club as a whole in league 1. Five seasons in 129 years isn't it?

The "new Blackburn Rovers" Jack referred to the club as and I used the phrase a few times myself usually while talking about mentality and mindsets lol.

Goodness knows what he would call the current version as aside from the facilities (and status as former PL champions which at least guarantees more publicity and possibly buyers than anyone else in the league) its basically regressed. Of course Venkys could fund way beyond what most others can in this league but we won't be holding our breath. Is there a swear filter on here for anything? "Fucking" isn't filtered what about other expletives?
