This one is a bit weird. But do any of you remember after every home game in the PL season when we finished 2nd that they played a song called keeping the dream alive ?. I heard that the other day i was all emotional. That and them showing a month worth of footage of when we did win it on the Youtube channel. I have been looking and thinking back about the team quite a bit.

I remember it well, its a good song and fitted in with the club at the time. On a side note I’m enjoying the Stone Roses stuff which is being played at the ground at the moment.

One of the most overrated band's around, along with the rest of the derivative 'britpop' genre from the Manchester area. Better than Gerald's (aka Smashy and Nicey's) Europe and Freiheit, marginally. Oasis, Stone Roses, The Charalatans, don't believe the hype! Go straight to the Byrds, The Who, Buffalo Springfield etc. and cut out the middleman!

No doubt you'll disagree but I preferred Dylan's original version of Mr Tambourine Man to the Byrds version. No bloody idea what it's about though.

I’ve always felt the music played at Rovers has , on the whole , been at bit corny and naff . I can’t stand the song the team run out to - Final Countdown .

When I started supporting the Rovers in the mid 60s I always thought we had the ‘ coolest ‘ kit , the best songs / chants and the most atmospheric home end ( Darwen End ) .

I felt I was in with ‘ The In Crowd ‘ So take your pick , either Dobie Gray or the King of Cool , Bryan Ferry . I guess neither would be Gerald’s first pick but would be a great tune for the Rovers to run out to .

'Here comes the nice' Small Faces was about a drug dealer. Ian Maclagan commented later that he had no idea how it got past the censor back then.

OnlyOneTugay NO WAY. Final countdown is way connected to us. It is played at loads of different Sporting events, Especially Speedway. I am convinced we had it first.
