Probably for the first time ever in any sport ever Scotland were favourites. In the World Cup of darts. They got knocked out yesterday (first day of the tournament) by Singapore.

If you refer to darts as a "sport", I find that a bit of a stretch of the term myself.

I wouldn't say that it complies with the dictionary definition of sport.... https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/sport

In this era of drink awareness and dry Januarys etc it's effectively a pub game isn't it? One look at the contestants gives the lie to the claim that it is a sport doesn't it? I can't think of any other sports that professional darters could compete in unless dominoes counts as a sport too perhaps. Having said that whilst physical fitness is not a requirement it definitely requires a high skill level with exceptional balance and vision.

I have to say, they have target shooting in the Olympics and that's only another way of firing something at a target to obtain a score. Not sure if it's proliferated by chubby chaps but don't think you'd need to be too slimline to do it.
I don't mean the one where they ski and shoot - seriously fit, those guys and gals.

Archery's another I guess but do the Olympics allow 3 pints of strong lager as a performance enhancer before shooting events and a constant top up during? Somehow I doubt it. Funny that alcohol is allowed in darts tbh, as so many darters claim they need it to settle their nerves making it a performance enhancer in my book.

I wouldn't define shooting as a sport either but at least it is usually done outdoors and can be affected by wind and rain so is closer to a sport than darts or snooker.
