Went to golf yesterday:
Started early, drove for two hours to the course in the Southern Highlands south of Sydney
Didn't miss a fairway
Didn't slice my drive
Didn't miss a green
Didn't miss a putt
First time ever

Yep, we got rained off

First time back at the driving range this morning. Long game fine, but pitching has gone to pieces! Not playing til I sort that out!

Blowing my own trumpet here but my playing partner and I became joint Winter League winners this morning on the last Sunday of the competition..... and my short game is poor too! Rem Mike chipping and pitching is the easiest thing to practice. You need a lesson or two to get your technique right and then as always...lots of practice.;)

Be nice to get a game set up with folk on here. I know I suggested it on *cough* and people seemed keen. Be good to see if we could do it.

Just tried to get a round in, but yep, it started P ing down again!

Now later in the day, and the remnants of Cyclone Debbie have hit us. Moderate winds, but the rain is lashing down, thankfully we pulled the pin on golf and went and had a good lunch

You may as well have stayed here dave! Plessys been closed for about 4 / 5 days through March and with most of it on sand it's one of the driest courses around here. :)
Anyway that cyclone... Is that summert to do with La Nina?

Played at my course on Monday, bit damp, and parts roped off, but generally good, greens like glass as usual. That is a very modern course, very well drained.
La Nina, not sure, but the cyclone packed one hell of a belt in QLD. Insurance premiums to go up no doubt.

Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia joint leaders by one shot going into the final round. Fowler one shot behind and Speith two behind.

Rose and Garcia tied after 72 holes. Garcia won (his 1st Major) in sudden death play off.

What a brilliant night watching the golf. It was impossible to go to bed until it finished and Sergio had his green jacket on. It seemed inevitable that he would win it on what would have been his great friend Seve's 60th birthday. The Americans were all left well behind whilst the two Europeans fought it out in the friendliest and most sporting shoot out I've ever seen. Generally Justin Rose played the better golf but Sergio was determined to win it for Seve and scrambled brilliantly from some practically impossible situations. There is something to be said for determination. All in all it was a superb advert for the game. Fantastic!

Is pleasington really that good? Played all the others in the area but they are all half the price or less. Just not sure it will be worth it

Duxbury has come on a lot in the last few years used to a complete bog unless we had a dry few months
