Reading that it seems to me that Qatar outbid the USA in the bungs department. "a gentlemans agreement to award it to the UDA"???? Why not say that from the start and then other nations didn't need to waste money on their bids. It's like the Eurovision... it's a complete stitch up and a waste of time and money us (and other nations) even bothering to apply.

Russia and Qatar were both dodgy IMO.

Russia I could accept as they and their teams have been part of the European footballing family for many years but Qatar??

They had no real footballing presence, the World Cup would have to be moved to play there and lots of negativity around human rights.
So why award it to them? Only one reason, isn't there?
