I remember jim on the darkside or was it doris or was it chris I cant remember going on and on at everyone saying we should all use public transport and he said it was acceptable for me to see my boys for 5 mins midweek when they were little because getting to hougton was a mare....its gone even worse.
Saturday for example my lad came down by train fro Lancaster to the game . He got to preston ,no trains it cost 20 quid in a taxi. There were no trains back so I had to run him back. Today my step daughter had to pick kids up from school and train from preston cancelled.
WHAT A JOKE PUBLIC TRANSPORT IS.

Except it isn't funny is it Abbey? No idea how it would work with the bus companies and the council but part of my solution would be to give an annual bus pass for an extra 50 quid (or whatever ?) to anyone paying their council tax on time and in full. Buses are never full so it would be sensible and would take people into Blackburn centre shops rather than to the Preston park and ride or similar. A win, win, win solution imo with only other shopping centres and petrol stations losing out.

Why has there always been so little 'blue sky thinking' in the council chambers?

A browse through the councilors list and their backgrounds will answer that question Drog

Hold on guys - jim mk2 may be a serious contender for the dumbest poster on ICBINF, and he has major competition for that particular accolade from some of the vacuous dimbos that still post there, but no one can accuse him of not knowing about steam locomotives!

it cant be any worse going non private again.
I have used the buses on and off over the last few between Chorley, Blackburn and Clitheroe, got to say quite impressed. Most have WIFI on board and they have been on time. Can't say the same for the train though after various attempts, the service between Blackburn and Clitheroe has been so hit and miss during the day with cancellations and lateness I have given up even walking up to the station to check. Pity really because when the train is available it is so much quicker than the bus at a comparable price.
