Rovers' Catchment Area

I'm a bit of a broken record on what I think are the very unrealistic expectation levels of many Rovers fans. Now and again things like this pop up which illustrate my point exactly:

That teeny, tiny little triangle with 168,467 people living in it is our catchment area if you were to base things purely on geography. I know its not quite that simple, but it gives a good indication.

Burnley's is 226,123, Preston 335,821, Bolton 434,961 and even our smallest play-off rival Luton 463,442.

We were punching so far above our weight in the 00s it was like Danny DeVito taking on Tyson Fury, and we're still punching above our weight now. Worth bearing in mind IMO the next time JDT loses a few games, we drop to about 8th, and its somehow considered totally unacceptable.

I am told that less than 50% of Rovers ST holders are from BwD.

The Club and the Community Trust must spread their wings wider than BwD. It is as if those in charge are frightened to upset other clubs by campaigning in other boroughs.

FFS areas like Chorley and the Ribble Valley have always been Rovers strongholds. Get a grip Rovers.

If you look at the crowds heading up Cravens Brow after the game you will notice a large portion of our support come from Darwen. Darreners certainly make up a lot of the away support.
PS b***ley get a lot of support from Yorkshire.
