It's a saturated catchment area within the northwest region.
Exactly. No one (except Burnley) is going anywhere really are they? Even Burnley's flickering flame will eventually splutter out due to lack of resources. All it takes is one bad managerial appointment:poop:.... as we found out!

Just as an aside how does this ice age extinction theory compute with flying dinosaurs (pterodactyls etc) and those massive monsters of the oceans? Why couldn't they just fly or swim south.... or why didn't those nearer or in the tropics survive?

We were a steady, established PL club before the Punatics rolled up. It's only a series of inexcusable blunders and inexplicable errors that have destroyed Rovers. All the Trust had to do was keep things ticking over and we would've hit the jackpot.
Yeah because endlessly starving the club plus relegation teflon man (even though he may have left as he attempted to in the summer of 2010) were going to guarantee survival for all eternity.

Ticking over? I prefer to call it doing the absolute bare minimum.

Well starving the club isn't keeping it ticking over as Amo said. I think he's making the point that the Trust could have told Williams, Finn etc to break even every season from say 2008 onwards. No revenue for them but no cost either. A manager like Allardyce would have had no problem whatsoever making that work and could have really kicked on like Burnley have with doubling of revenue with the new TV contract.

Or like every other PL midtable club have. Burnley have had one season without being relegated (and probably a 2nd) but there's clubs who have spent far more time there. Why do you insist on using smaller clubs as a barometer considering what Rovers have achieved in the past? The club still would have been for sale regardless of Venkys so if that had gone well ambitions could be considerably higher. I don't see why anyone non-local would buy Burnley its an awful name.

I know what point Amo is making and its the same short sighted nonsense especially if relegation teflon man left. The trustees were taking the club nowhere and only idiots like Lingard think Rovers would have been guaranteed to keep PL status with them.

Can't believe this is still doing the rounds, Red Bull Rovers, FC Rovers of Blackburn, Blackburn Red Bull etc etc might be a goer. Lancashire United ? Samlesbury ? Merging teams ?

Nah just piss off to United or City or even FC United ( many did for 5 mins) all the kids still will anyway.
Where's red bull interest from this time ?

There isn't any. Its just a "story" that's come up occasionally. First time was before Venkys takeover. Quite surprised they haven't bought an English club yet. They should probably buy MK as their fans could hardly complain and most likely wouldn't mind.

Lancs Utd is a pipedream. If you honestly think Rovers, Burnley, Preston fans et al. will ditch years of loyalty, tradition and fierce rivalry to support some manufactured, franchise club, you are badly mistaken. They'll either watch local non-league football or give up the game.
Like Blackburn Olympic fans did perhaps?

As far as your 1st paragraph amo allow me to set the history straight. Left to our own devices we had been limping along in Divisions 2 and 3 for 25 years in an outdated ramshackle stadium with one side completely shut because of safety issues and crowds of 5000 - 8000 until Jack Walker trapped up with his cheque book. Today there were 3710 watching the match!
If the venkys left tomorrow, withdrew their financial support and no one with massive disposable wealth willing to spew millions on a club that isn't even washing it's face at present stepped in the doors would shut for the last time.
So never mind the Burnley, PNE fans etc what would our fans rather do should the in that scenario? All of a sudden a Lancashire County might just seem a good idea..... and Lancashire County might just appear more attractive an investment to big business than Blackburn Rovers.

If BRFC was viable it wouldn't need subsidising though. Why are you whingeing about the Trust not subsidising BRFC for eternity when you don't even go to Ewood on a regular basis?
My hope would be that Lancs County would end up self financing. It really is the only real way forward imo. If it isn't to be then so be it, but I can see the day when Blackburn Rovers will just be a few pages in the history books.

Is it really Abbs? Most crackpot idea I have seen is Boycotting / NAPM. Switching off the life support machine with no cure in sight is just bonkers. Believe me if there was an option to the venkys I'd back it to the hilt, but guess what? There isn't is there?

Maybe you should see me as a visionary.
tbh I'd probably boycott again if we had Premier League income as you well know. A mass boycott back then would have damaged the Venkys and the Premier League as a brand. Now it just damages BRFC. As ever it's your choice.
