The only form for me.
I quietly like Wigan and used to to a few games but I only watch a handful of games on tv these days.. I have no idea why I dont follow it as much these days.

Shirt abs, I wanted CLB to launch this thread
Haha, he's beat me to it! Abbey is an Administrator after all, so he can have the honour. All I can say Abs is that you've got good taste with a liking for Wigan. Don't be quiet about it though, shout it from the rooftops. Looking forward to the game against Saints tomorrow. We're slowly converting my mate, an Evertonian, who's coming to the game as well.

Over to you Dave, tell us summat about the game down under.

Biggest problem I have with league here is the ability of players to openly negotiate their contracts whilst they are playing for a club, and possibly have to play against a team they are transferring to.
The Sharks, my local side, have lost Jack Bird to the broncos, and we're only 5 games into the season! That's what the rules, and the salary cap allow and do.
There's also talk of a draft system to stop these early negotiations. Giving first dibs to those teams that finish bottom or near bottom of the comp.
One thing you might not know about the NRL is that only two teams own their own ground, Penrith and The Sharks. All the others are usually owned by the local council and leased to the RL club (but other sports can use them outside the needs of the RL club.

Just watching South v Canterbury. Two England players captaining their sides, James Graham and Sam Burgess.
The rip into each other, no love lost on the park, but apparently they're great mates.

A good game yesterday and Saints played their part despite having Kyle Amor sent off early in the game for a high tackle. Wigan were never really safe but did enough in the end in front of over 23k. We had another four players back from injury including Micky McIlorum who's been out since last summer, so on the whole things are looking up.

Yeah pretty good Dave. Good Friday is always the derby, one year at ours, the next at theirs. The attendance at the Wigan game is usually somewhere around that figure. It was cool and wet yesterday as well.

I believe that whatever happens this season that the first 2 weeks of our pre season training should be carried out at a Rugby League club and any player exceeding their target weight through the season should be sent back until they get back to where they should be. Failing that we should hire out Brockhall to one, share afcilities and and mix the training up a bit on Mondays.

tbh I've thought that ever since that Big Girls Blouse 'Tiny' Taylor made his debut for us. With the right mentality instilled he could have played for England.

Less of the cool and wet bit please CLB
I don't mind if I don't ever see another snowflake in my life.
Drog, you're right about the softness of football players. I was watching the warm up of the RL players last night, they'd gone through 30 minutes of hits etc (a lot less than in a game), but it would have taken something out of them, but got them warmed up well and truly.
Tiny Taylor, could have been the bees knees, what a waste.

Got to say all credit to Saints for keeping the score respectable after a poor sending off so early on.

I'm not a regular watcher by any means when it comes to RL, but where the heck have Cas come from? superb to watch, some great players and if they can stay injury free seem a shoe-in for the playoffs and could possibly win it.

Just watching North Queensland Cowboys making a fist of it after being 28-4 down at HT against The Dragons.

No moaning, respecting the ref, no ruined by money and just a good honest game where nobody can hide, everything football isn't really.

It has been tried. Everton trained with Saints and treated the players, staff and facilities at Saints with such contempt they were never invited back. Think Wigan still do a bit with the tics but I suspects it's more of a publicity thing. I suppose you have millionaire soft lads mixing with rock hard ultra fit lads who in the main earn the minimum wage and in many cases less of they've got academy status. There are exceptions; Wayne Rooney can play RL and from what I've been told could have done something. Likewise Matty Jansen, a very good Union player who started playing RL I think.

.
They have a good head coach in Daryl Powell and I think it's just their time at the moment. They have only won four major honours , four Challenge cup wins, but Castleford is a real Rugby League town and it's always a tough place to go to. They will do well to keep their momentum going because with Rugby League these days, it's all about hitting form at the right time of the season. But it's also good for the game to have other clubs at the top end of the table.
