I has nearly a week of food poisoning. Worst turmoil my stomach has known.

I put it down to a meal in a well known pub in the Wheelton area.

Couple of my pet hates re:eating out.
1. Skin-on chips in restaurants. wtf is that about? I can't think of one single chippy that sells skin on chips. The only not to dietary matters is that the peel is the healthiest bit on a spud but for the amount of peel on a potato who cares about that?
2. The apparent need to serve burgers on a lump of wood! Why does no other main meal get served on wood plates or bowl? Goodness only knows how the Food Standards lot can allow that practice to continue as it's not good to allow wood to be soaked in hot water and that being the case then how do restaurants clean and sterilise them? The only answer can be that they don't.

Nearly as bad as serving a starter on a roof slate FFS. Can’t they afford crockery?

Apart from two alluded to by Abbey and a Drog I can only think of the recently refurbed Top Lock and the Brewers Fayre-style one next to David Lloyds.
