can't get into these long winded things.
I liked
"Life on Mars" Brilliant and an ending that was unexpected. Very Northern.
"Pennies From Heaven" for the music and the way it was introduced into the program.
"Edge of Darkness" just thinking about this sends shivers up my spine, so real and can still happen. Scary ending.

I rem the original in the 80's with Bob Peck and Joanne Whalley. Like House of Cards starring Iain Richardson I've steadfastly refused to watch the new US based versions of these two excellent series should they spoil my memories of the originals.

Bob Peck, Joanne Whalley, yes, and Jo Bob somebody that played the US bloke...... shiver shiver shiver. Him holding that uranium......

Jo Don Baker was the yank, Jedburgh

FBI profile certainly helped though without the tipoff source who knows whether he would have been caught. Guy was pretty isolated you can see why it took so long to catch him. The FBI were involved relatively early on after an attempt to bring down an aircraft. He injured a couple of people prior but apparently that wasn't enough of a "federal crime" for the FBI's involvement. Somehow I suspect that's changed.

He certainly wasn't stupid (you're not stupid if you attend Harvard) or religiously motivated. Neither was he interested in money. Criminal behaviour often comes from those 3 types (of course sexual crimes are extremely common and general violence as well) but this was an extremely unique individual. Maybe he should have tried to move to Cambodia (Pol Pot had some similar bizarre beliefs and enforced them on an unimaginable scale) but they probably would have rejected him based on his academic background.

Without the profiler's recomandation that they agree to publish his Manifesto in the Washington post they wouldn't have recieved the tip off so he definitely played a major role in his capture

Oh absolutely that was major. Still the chances are no other source would have provided the tipoff. People like that sometimes want to be caught so perhaps he would have left a trail eventually. He did say that he wouldn't carry out anymore acts of terrorism if certain media outlets published his manifesto. Can't really trust the promises of a lunatic though.

GoT is absolutely riveting at the moment for those who like that kind of thing. After seeing a glint in Deanarys's eye when she addresses him I'd say John Snow ends up bedding her and if I was a betting man I'd put a double on that Dragon rescuing him from the white walker by torching it.

Better get round to watching that eventually. It was only a year ago I started watching shows like Breaking Bad. Had a lot of catching up to do lol.

Assume BBC 1 will be changing their programming schedule a bit tonight following the death of Bruce Forsyth. Not that I'm complaining or anything (don't watch much on terrestrial channels anyway) its the right thing to do.

Saw a funny letter in a Tv mag once writing about how their Mother found Bruce intolerable but was a massive dancing fan. Then Forsyth got the "Strictly" hosting gig and ruined it for her :D. Wouldn't say it was ever one of those "grown up with" things (and I certainly haven't spent any time in past few years watching dancing shows) though I do remember watching the "Generation Game" a few times back in the 90's.

I've enjoyed some of Brucie's programmes over the years, especially the Generation Game although not Strictly. Never did go for that.
RIP Bruce. I think his epitaph should be "Thanks Bruce - You made us laugh".
