The roads are in a disgraceful state all over the north west. Worst I've ever known. I'll put it down to us having to build and upgrade Mways and main roads etc all across the bloody continent for the past 40 years. :mad:
I'm concerned some will damage my suspension and tyres but I really fear some cyclists and motor cyclists will be killed or at the very least seriously injured given the depth of some of the pot holes that I have seen. Disgraceful state of affairs in fact I'd deem them criminally negligent given the tax revenue paid by motorists one way or another in road tax, fuel duty, VAT, insurance tax etc etc.

There's a simple explanation - austerity. We have a government that refuses spend money on public services, police, armed forces, health and infrastructure.

The tax paid by motorists is irrelevant. It all goes into a general pot to be spent (or not) how the government sees fit

I did know that but it's still galling.
I must say though that every day I switch on BBC News and some organisation is bleating for money with their hands held out. I'ts never bloody ending! No one ever comes on saying 'I don't need the money that I am getting' or 'I want to pay more tax' though do they?

Snow 3.18.JPG Nowhere near as much snow as we had 10 days ago either... although tbf ours came straight down and didn't drift.


However I heard about someone who travelled from Blackburn to hospital in Leeds yesterday morning for life changing, major transplant surgery! I guess if it were a school it'd have been shut!
The teaching profession is decidedly flaky though these days isn't it? Fact of the matter is that none of the buggers have ever left school have they?
