Join the club. I'm a ginge and have only painful memories of trying to get a tan in my youth.
Why not go outside sit on a lounger and cough repeatedly?

That's par golf you bloody bandit! Time for a handicap review!
My problem is that I'm not a big hitter and have to catch up to the others with my short game and my putting. If that fails, I'm stuffed.
We've had plenty of rain in recent weeks that slows the run on the fairways making it even harder for me, my ball just stops after a bounce.
We say you have two handicaps here (for us hackers) winter (when everything is soft and wet) and summer(when everything is hard and dry).

Ditto for me dave. It's tough finding the green consistently with a 5 iron when others are hitting an 8.

Checked my card from yesterday, at least I parred 3 of the four par threes, and took a four on the last par 3, all from off the green I might add.
If I'm hitting from , say 110-120 metres, I use a hybrid 3 wood. For some reason, I can hit it straight without to much hassle. Put my ordinary 3 wood in my hands and I slice (I now know how to correct that, but golf being golf, I forget from time to time).
My current bane, is not setting myself correctly on the fairway so I duff my shot. I'll fix that, and then stuff up somewhere else.

I use a 5 Wood of the fairway for distance shots. Find it much easier than a Three wood or a long iron.

Par 3 scoring like that is 6-15 handicap territory I'd suggest.

115 metres in old money being 125-130 yards. Level and no wind that's a 6 or a 7 iron for me but I'd say most of my crew would take 8/9 iron.

Tip for the fairway dave, if you are duffing shots then (in my own experience) it's because you are trying to hit them with 100% plus force and swinging too fast! No way can your head stay still over the ball or your swing line not become a massive out to in when doing that. Watch pros on approach iron shots and they rarely use brute force they just swish the club through then ball. Try purposely taking 1 club more and swinging s l o w l y at just 80% of full power but concentrating on keeping your head down and still and watching the back of the ball until after you have swung right through. Get that right and the club head will stay on line, the shaft will do it's job and I'm sure your distance and accuracy will improve. In fact get that right and you will be going through the green and needing to club down!
We all try to believe that we are 30 years old when to play better golf we'd be better off imagining that we are 80. For an alternative just watch womens golf. They won't be as strong as you or I by a mile but they'll hit a ball half as far again as you or I. They know better than to try and 'muscle' the ball down the fairway cos they can't! It's all about technique and technique goes first out of the window when we rank amateurs just try to 'twat it'.

They said it was going to absolutely lash down Friday or Saturday. So many drops or whatever. Now it is quite warm. Got it wrong.
