was chatting in the gym's sauna earlier and someone asked when was the last time we was top in any division. \My guess would be under souness before we got promoted at nobbers.

Were we top that season? I seem to remember Fulham running away with it thanks to Saha who was way too good for that league.

I think it might be under Kean of all people. Before that probably in August 2003 for a week or so. Don't think Rovers ever topped the Championship under Souness for vast majority of the season Fulham led the way. Usually best team wins the league but there are obvious exceptions. I thought Rovers were better than Fulham (Souness said so before they got an undeserved win at Ewood which was annoying lol) and the following season finished above them.

Not forgetting that we were able to field Dunny, Jansen, Bercovic, Freidal and Damien bloody Duff for goodness sakes! Easily top half Prem quality all of them.

Note! Although Bury are currently 10 points from safety they are fighting for their 1st Div lives and are currently 10th in the form guide and unbeaten since Chris Lucketti was replaced in five matches since mid January by caretaker Manager Ryan Lowe. Above both Oldham and Northampton who we could only draw with recently. Re-vitalised might be the best way to describe them.

Got home from dialysis not feeling too bad so I'm off to the match in a couple of minutes. Set the box to record the match too. COYB right from the kick off.

Being strictly objective I think you could only put Duff in Saha's class. Good as they were, none of those others tempted a big 4 club.

Know its a bit hypocritical saying this from my armchair tonight but how critical are our fans? The commentators have been so taken aback they've mentioned it constantly. Then booed off at half time. We could go top of the league and instead of getting roared on the players are subjected to angry whining again. I find it embarrassing thinking what other clubs fans make of us.

Well I hope Mowbray doesn't do his perfunctory complimenting the fans post match. Scathing when level, silent when in front. Not sure I've heard the keeper banging his boots on the post sound so loud before. To say how many Mowbray supporters there are amongst our support they don't do much of a job of supporting his team.

Depressing reminder of why I don't go as much anymore. One of a few tens singing whilst thousands either pick their nose or have a breather before their next criticism. Better away at least.
