Whhhoooo Hooo! Didn't expect that thats for sure. 2 points from 3 games will do! Doncaster match could seal it!
Funny how after teams are officially relegated they can manage to pull off some impressive results isn't it?
Shrewsbury are certainly missing their Captain and a run of suspensions following red cards can't have helped either. Thin squad has finally done for them. I must say I'm beginning to fear for them in the play offs.

If Rovers need a kick up the backside to get past Wigan, Paul Cook has provided it in the Telewag. What a pillock he is!

Wigan boss Paul Cook couldn't help taking a little dig at Rovers after his side secured promotion back to the Championship after a 4-0 victory at Fleetwood.

Rovers held a six point advantage over the Latics in March, albeit having played four games more.

And after seeing his side secure promotion with three games to spare, Cook said: “Blackburn got a little bit ahead of themselves when we had games in hand with some things said about us becoming fatigued, but we haven’t.

“We’re the first team to be promoted and we got to the quarter-final of the FA Cup. I wish Blackburn and Shrewsbury, with a special mention to them, well.

“We’re very grounded as a staff. It’s a long journey in football and it is a great day.”

Wigan hold a three point advantage over Rovers, with a better goal difference, going in to the final three games of the season.

They will be looking to achieve the league title they won in 2015/16 and can finish on 102 points should they win their remaining matches and Cook added: “The record speaks for itself; clean sheets, goals, wins and the best teams in the league finish at the top.

“I’m so proud of the players. We might be a good fit now but football changes - my time at Portsmouth showed that when we were happy - and then it all changed.

“I’m going to enjoy tonight and it’s great when you’ve managed or played for a club and you lead them to promotion, you’ll always have a place in their heart.”

Elswhere in League One, Shrewsbury were held to a 1-1 draw by already relegated Bury, meaning a win for Rovers at Doncaster on Tuesday would see them promoted alongside Wigan.

Rotherham secured their play-off spot with a 2-0 win over Bristol Rovers, while Charlton and Scunthorpe occupy the other two spots after wins over Portsmouth and Walsall respectively.

Northampton boosted their hopes of survival, with a win over Plymouth, denting their top six hopes in the process.

Rochdale missed the chance to move out of the bottom four after a last minute equaliser for Bradford saw them draw 1-1.

Struggling AFC Wimbledon and Oldham shared a 2-2 draw, while MK Dons are as good as down after a 4-0 thumping at Southend.

I think it's fair enough tbh. I've got to say the table top 3 is not lying at the moment. Wigan are imo a stronger all round team than us although I believe that we have 5/6 players that would walk in the Wigan team. Our weakness is that we have too many good inside forwards but too few specialist widemen. Ironically the guy who would have seen us top the table and be promoted first (imo) snapped his hamstring away at Wigan in the autumn and hasn't played since.

It's not fair enough, and shows a lack of respect that is close to taunting. I would love it, just love it, if we beat them to the championship, if that's what I can call it of division one. Never liked the dingle whoever he played for or managed. Another odious scouser.
I do take your point about the lack of specialist wide men though. It's obvious when you watch them. We would have walked it with a fit Chapman.

Is it possible to be a dingle AND a scouser?

Anyway I bear no grudges but because of his comments if we do go up than I would like to see us squeak it in front of them at the end.

I stand corrected if that is where he is from.

1. Wigan 2. Rovers 3. Shrewsbury.

That's definitely how I see the league on merit but just shows Cook up to be a classless Dingle goon with a chip on his shoulder if he's more bothered about going on about us than celebrating promotion.

A scouser who played for the Dingles. Simples.

Anyway I bear no grudges but because of his comments if we do go up than I would like to see us squeak it in front of them at the end.
I Do!

He might well have been fed that question.... reporters are like that.

Behave. Cook's now on a par with that other Scouse Dingle bastard at Fleetwood. I bet the post match conversation between those 2 was exhilarating yesterday!
Do you mean they should rename Fishermen's Friends to Fishermen's Sisters
