Alf Wood , ex centre forward of Shrewsbury has died at the age of 74 . RIP Alf .

However not sure if anyone else remembers that fateful day at Shrewsbury when the Rovers got beat 7-1 and Wood scored 5 , after he knobbled Sir Roger Jones , when the score was 1-0 - or so I’ve been told !

As a youngish lad I was in a state of shock when it came up on the teleprinter on Grandstand :

Shrewsbury Town 7 ( seven ) Blackburn Rovers 1
