Away Match Travel and Lifts

This is meant to be an occasional thread for those roversfans.com members offering or looking for lifts.

As a starter the usual guys I Travel Away with are unable to go to Northampton (23rd Dec) as they are afraid their wives and partners may ground them as it is too close to Xmas; as a modern man I have already bought my ticket and will tell the Missus I need a day to go shopping without telling her I am going to Northampton . If anyone wants a lift then please contact me - modest fuel contribution required please.

I attach a photo of the last Ribblesdale Coaches RATC (‘Rovers Away Travel Club’ for you youngsters) trip to Workington Town FC.

Girl in the shop wasn't cutting me any slack though ( which I suppose is good) just hope there are some left for 1875 members

I remember falling asleep under that tin roof in the away end at Shrewsbury due to arriving in the town at 09:00 and drinking until kick off.

Seems BEB was particularly fond of away trips too a while back too.

I've never been a devotee given the cost when I was always skint, a preference to play instead of watch and a feeling that I was wasting a day for 90 mins entertainment. Obviously I've enjoyed some great away days over the years but the best memory was 17/12/2000 when we all went up the M65 on Shearings coaches. One of my favourite squads too and especially so when we'd added Berco for the final 3 months. How Bolton took so long to shake off I don't know. The situation with Fulham, BRFC and Bolton back then reminds me so much of the situation now with ourselves, Wigan and Shrewsbury.

Anyway considering this thread is supposed to be a swap shop for lifts, and given our excellent away support there's precious little car sharing in evidence.

I am going to drive to Bristol Rovers Away. Non of the usual lads are going if anyone is intersted in a lift for a modest contribution.

This does not include Khmer Blue.
