Makes for some interesting reading . Good efforts both by Lincoln and Luton . The top three fairly predictable. PNE’s higher spot than Rovers was no doubt helped by the circa 6,500 they brought to Ewood .

A good number of Rovers away support will not go to home games, this is for a variety of reasons including the dreadful atmosphere we have at Ewood.

With legislation on safe standing being relaxed it is time for Rovers to take the plunge. Spurs, Wolves and Man Utd are all trying it.

I have just read the Fans Forum minutes on the official website and this was minuted:

‘LT said that the DCMS were currently reviewing the law on safe standing. Should the law change any plans the club made would have to be passed by the local Safety Advisory Group.

JW stated that he understood that the Government were looking to undertake trials with a number of PL and EFL clubs. Sw was not aware but undertook to check with the EFL.
SW said that the club needed to consider where a safe standing area could be put. NO1 was an area where most fans stood anyway but even there there would be fans who had season tickets there who may well not wish to move. If any plans were made the club undertook to consult with all those affected.
There were also financial implications as it would cost about £70,000 to convert 1,000 seats.’

I guess the issue for Rovers will be the £70k. In my opinion it will probably pay for itself by encouraging more younger fans to attend. As for the Club being concerned with potentially moving fans that is a bit rich given the closure of the BBE Upper Family Stand and the DE Singing Section. More excuses to do nowt…….

The standing areas I've seen,you have to stand as if you sat the barrier would obstruct your view.To me Rovers need there head testing to spend 70 k on standing areas when we could but the money to someones contract.

There hasn’t been a dreadful atmosphere on the two home games I’ve seen so far this season? I haven’t heard the Blackburn End as loud in years, particularly when they’re chanting “Diaz, Diaz!”
