Did he not sign after deadline day, maybe a day later.I can only think TM rates him very highly and is not giving him starts because he feels the deal could be gazumped, when Basil came out last week and said how highly he rated him it put me at ease.

Could be waggy, theres got to be a reason behind it I think.
Can someone gazump, with it being a loan until jan or is it a signed and sealed deal?
At the end of the day it buggers belief how people can write him off after a handful of late appearences in his wrong position. I think after Christmas hes going to shine .

Not written him off yet but I can see possesses a distinct lack of pace and a poor first touch. Both key requirements for a top striker imo.

Whenever I criticise something that the manager does I get told that he sees them every day and knows a lot more than me so my opinion is not valid. I therefore live in hope with Brereton. :worried::pensive:

So how many full games does any player get before hes branded rubbish?
What a panic led fan base weve become.

I remember sherwood getting dogs abuse in the 2nd div...look what he achieved..wilcox too.

This kid is young and still learning and has not had ONE game yet.
I know the scum mentioned maradonna but this more like prima donna

Are the following new rules which I am unaware of?
No adverse comment nor even honest appraisal of any rover's player allowed.
No perceived weaknesses discussed.
No suggestions for improvement.

If so and if we are only allowed to give them all fulsome praise then I'll have to keep my opinion to myself and be forced to lie when asked about my impressions e.g Young Ben has the electrifying pace of Bellamy and the first touch of Tugay. There is that better Abbey?

If there is it's only because we started up. Before then jackboot moderation was applied to anyone they either didn't like, couldn't match up to in debate or who didn't share their left wing views. Pretty sure that I rated three out of three.

I've banned myself from there since 7/9/15 so have they improved any? How are they keeping Commissar Paul under control these days?

Nobody's written Brereton off yet but I'd like to see him given some time in the middle and I don't mean 20 minutes otherwise we might as well concentrate on the lads we have in the u23's. I just haven't seen £7 mill in him yet. Joe Nuttall was given a lot more chances than Ben and he cost nothing.

I think MCM1875 was being sarky Gord. I still look on there for transfer info etc. but the ambience on here is miles better.

On the rovers web page.....

Tony Mowbray says Ben Brereton will earn a start sooner rather than later having impressed the boss off the bench in recent weeks.

Brereton, who is on loan at Ewood Park until January, at which point the move will become permanent, has started just once since arriving from Nottingham Forest in the summer.

He is still waiting for his first goal in Rovers colours, but has made an impact as a substitute in recent weeks, particularly at Ewood.

He had a goal ruled out for offside against Preston North End on Saturday, and Mowbray admits he's been impressed with the 19-year-old's showings.

“It would have been great for Ben to have scored what was a perfectly good goal on Saturday. Added to the fact he won the penalty against QPR and set up Bradley [Dack] against Rotherham, I did feel a bit for him that the goal didn't stand," the boss told iFollow Rovers ahead of Wednesday's trip to Wigan Athletic.

“But he’s strong enough and big enough to wait for his opportunity, and, as he has done recently, he needs to take it.

“He’s a goal threat and is creating chances. I sat down with Ben and had a chat with him last week and he knows the plan with him. I’m sure it won’t be too long until he is out there scoring goals and creating chances.

“When anybody comes to a new club there is a period of settling in, getting used to the lads and the humour. Ben’s been working through that and I think he’s there now.

“The lads have really taken to him and he gets on with everybody in the group. It’s sometimes difficult for me when the likes of [Danny] Graham, [Adam] Armstrong and Dack are impacting games. Sometimes he needs to wait.

“Football is about balance with and without the ball and every player needs to wait for their turn if they aren’t starting."C__Data_Users_DefApps_AppData_INTERNETEXPLORER_Temp_Saved Images_Large(4).jpg

Does this £7m deal have a get-out clause?

Any regulars think this guy has the raw materials to make it? When you're playing out of position on the wing and making the odd sub appearance it's bound to rock your confidence, but is he putting in the graft?

There are rumours circulating that ToMo didn't want this signing in the first place.
There are also rumours circulating that Bradley Dack is the love child of Diana Ross....who knows.

As I said on the thread thread I want the lad to do well, however I have seen nothing to date that suggests he should remain at Ewood. I hope we do not have to spend 7M on him, we should also ship out that showboater Kasey Palmer back to Chelsea, goodness knows how much we are paying him per week; he probably spends more money on his hair than the average weekly family shopping bill in Blackburn.

This rumour of £7m or whatever in January has been really unhelpful. I've not seen him play enough to make a proper judgement but my first thought when we got him was to apply Occam's Razor.

What's the simplest explanation for why Forest were happy to loan him out? Cause he's not good enough for the Championship yet.

The problem with football is that "yet" can easily turn into a full stop. There's thousands of players who've done the business for an England junior level and that's about as good as they got. Heck I play with one on Wednesday night's who made it to England under-11s :)

At the moment I can't see much difference between him and Joe Nuttall.

Ben ........ Shit fact....... Tony fucked up, every time I see him on the field he make mistakes, turns slow, is in the wrong position for through balls, really bad move tony and if we stick with him and he stays like this it will cost us points.......

I don't fault Mowbray for bigging Brereton up but the truth will be:
His confidence is shot to pieces OR he is just about the worst player I've seen, going on his cameos.
