I don’t normally do away cup game previews but as a special I have made an attempt at a brief preview for the Cowboy Cup next week.
Rovers visit the happiest town to live in for our game next week. I wonder when the fans will crash through the barrier on leaving one of Britain’s most miserable towns to the genteel surroundings of Harrogate? Probably as soon as they pass the sh!thole of Burnley.
Harrogate once hosted the Eurovision finals, it is was where Agatha Christie was found in 1926 when she went missing from her home in Surrey. She was found in the steam of the UK’s last remaining Turkish Baths all crinkly, with a soggy bottom and almost drowning in pools of sweat.
If I were to get a ticket (a probability from an old friend nearby) I will be doing a hop, skip and jump to Betty’s Tea Rooms. There will be no soggy bottoms at Betty’s, only strong tea, firm buns and plenty of crumpets dripping with butter.
Tea and Crumpets Sir?
With Cream?
One For The Ladies (added after this post was equality proofed):
The Harrogate fans will up for this game. A long ball over the top and bingo they will probably score. However I reckon Rovers will narrowly shade this game and come out 4-0 winners. We then go into the hat for the 3rd round of the Caucasian Cup and the possibility of playing one of the big boys.
As Frank Spencer would say “ooh Betty”.
