R I P Birdy. Probably Rovers most faithful supporter. I didn't know him myself but many of you probably did.

I'd like to see someone reckon up the matches and miles that he's clocked up following the Rovers.

As you've likely never seen him before and recognition for his support.

RIP a true Darrener and devoted Rovers fan. Hope the club put something on the big screen on Friday night.

Rovers have improved leaps and bounds on this stuff in the last 20 years. I remember a time when the club shop was indistinguishable from JD Sports, just selling general sports gear at high prices, and they would never even acknowledge things like this which are important to the fans.

Nice article that.

Only found out about this a couple of days ago and it genuinely brought a tear to my eye. Didn't know him well but had a few passing words with him over the years and as has been said he was Rovers through and through and never missed a match.

If ex players that are connected with clubs for a few years are always recognised and remembered nowadays, then a minutes applause/silence is the very least this man deserves from the club, in fact I'd advocate a far greater tribute, after all fans are the lifeblood of any club and he was the greatest.

RIP Birdy.
