Hmm I think almost everyone on here blames them. I certainly haven't seen the level of attempts to defend them or deflect blame from them that I've seen on Facebook. Some of those examples (including the one you posted in other thread) are absurd to the point of thinking some may be posted by masquerading Burnley fans.

The prevailing attitude on here seems to be more along the lines of we want them out but there's nothing we can do. That's my attitude. The biggest fanbase in the world couldn't get the Glazers out even when they started a new club. The Blackpool fans couldn't get the Oystons out even with a widespread long-term boycott, he just insulted them in the media and prosecuted one.

Venkys fall into that category, 2 relegations hasn't shaken them, an 80-90% drop in club revenue hasn't shaken them. They are clearly the types who couldn't give a rat's arse what the fans think, they probably find us funny if anything. It's a lost cause.

Rise up!! Abbey what are you suggesting? NAPM wouldn't bother them if all 8k still attending joined in

I am sorry it isn't going to happen as I posted earlier today its take it! or leave it!
Sadly they are clearly going nowhere!

Make no mistake that annoys and frustrates me just as much as you

NAPM is not dividing fans ...Jesus Christ .
Super happy clapping holier than thou super fans are with the superior attitude.
Will you take a stand now or just blindly feed cheston and pasha ?
How can you say that? Of course it is dividing the fans! This thread is testament to that on it's own! Anyway I've already fed em by buying my ST!

You should have got out of that corner that you have painted for yourself Abbey and gone yesterday cos if you could spot a happy clapper yesterday you are a better man than me! "Your not fit to wear the shirt" from every side of the ground and a chorus of booing hardly resembled happy clapping to me that's for sure! You complain often enough about the treatment that you got when you protested in 2011 but they were Rovers fans that thumped you weren't they? Yet anybody dare criticise or blame on the supporters and you are the first to come down on them like a ton of bricks as if every BRFC supporter is a paragon of virtue and blameless. As far as I can see there are thousands of supposed Rovers fans who are acting like spoilt brats who have had their sweets taken off them.

God only knows how you can moan about happy clappers anyway. There's far more disgruntled moaning buggers amongst the supposed Ewood faithful than Happy Clappers that's for sure. There's also a hell of a lot more glory hunters around who have turned their backs on the club because thats what they do when the going gets tough! Most claim it's the venkys that have driven em away but that's just bollocks! Rem I've seen this before when the venkymob would still be in nappies! Why not direct your anger on those backsliders? Part time supporters used to be the way we described them. Need proof? Wembley 87, Full Members Cup Final. 30,000 turned up in North London that day and cheered Rovers win to the rafters, but 20000 disappeared by the next home match? 31000 turned up to see the Premier League Trophy paraded around Ewood by Kenny, Sherwood the S&S et al the very next season we were struggling to sell 15000 ST's! Rovers fans 'salt of the earth' my arse!

Whilst no one can deny the venkys have been abysmal owners this is just another chapter in the BRFC book (I just hope it's not the final one!) I well rem that plenty of 'fans' were whingeing about the Trust before the venkys showed up. Whingeing about Sam Allardyce had reached ridiculous proportions too! How could anybody get it so wrong? Allardyce's subsequent managerial success in stark contrast to our demise must make one or two look at themselves in the shaving mirror every morning in shame and embarrassment! Ditto albeit to a lesser extent with the rising clamour in the stands to bin off the best manager since Allardyce ... Gary Bowyer! WTF was that about? Some had even turned John Williams into a hate figure! Before Jack Walker turned up chants of 'Sack the board' were a regular feature! All just more symptoms of the eternal Ewood virus. A section of supporters always have to moan about things, if they have nowt then they invent something (no further proof needed than the treatment our own 'Captain Fantastic' Tim Sherwood received is there?). Steele and Lowe were the most recent to cop for it well let me tell you both are way better than anybody that we have replaced them with!

Final point if you want the club to pull through and if you want the owners gone then staying away will just work the opposite way. No need to slavishly cow tow to the owners but the club needs everyone to pull together more than ever before.

As for a 'Superior attitude'..... if I have then I think I've a bloody good right to have one.

A very good post Drog. Protesting has nil affect and staying away just hurts the club.

I disagree staying away hurts the club. Just as raging at Venkys has no effect, supporting the club financially and supporting the team vocally also has no effect.

Financially we've lost £40m+ revenue from the PL days and a few thousand more season ticket holders is just a few hundred thousand more pounds. And what is the positive effect of vocal support at matches against the negative effect of endless rubbish managers?

It really makes no difference whether we attend games or not, or protest or not. Sad state of affairs.

Gord ..the fans didn't turn on venkys tho ...they turned on the players from what I've read. The players are a by product of the Scummers. Fans turned after 7 years and who do they turn on ..the players amazing .
At least when we protested we always backed the players.

Full members check ..anfield check ....trelleborgs check ... Old 3 div check .

Would you class yourself spoilt brat when you boycotted ?

Al the only thing hurting the club is the puneatics ffs....what would make your tipping point Al or you happy to just sit through the destruction until it's too late ?

Oh I don't know. The more people repeat this the more I maintain slight hope someone may pull off some crazy act of retribution.

It was the players on the pitch not the owners. The manager has been backed this close season and if he has chosen the wrong players it is down to him not the owners. There is no tipping point. Whatever protests you want to dream up they have absolutely no effect on the Venkys. We've seen that over the years. You either support the team or give up on them. It would appear to me that you have chosen the latter.

Carry on wasting your time and breath Abs. Your protests make no difference and you will never get everybody to boycott. It's becoming embittering I know but that's the top and bottom of it. You are punishing nobody but yourself.

Even with pitch invasions full boycott and so on it has not worked anywhere that I know of. In fact with this shower we have they would just dig their heels in further. Look at the poor buggers at Blackpool. I was all up for protests etc..however the fire should now be aimed at the FA, government and MP's etc...This should really be done as a group meaning all football fans. This crap can happen to any team and it will happen again.

The team deserved a good boo'ing and a your not fit to wear the shirt on the weekend 100%. If we started singing venkys out if gives them a get out of jail card. Yes it is all Venkys fault but the current players and manager need to held accoutable for that disgrace of a 'performance'. You think the players care a toss about Venkys, no way they get paid like any other player and have a job to do.

Take a stand and that's fine, but don't expect it to hasten their departure because sadly it won't.

Go on then I'll bite :) What do you expect to happen that has not happened at lots of other clubs which is pretty much every case ends in failure or worse fines or arrest.

I absolutley hate them Abbey and I'm not a hateful person but what the heck can you do appart from wait it out. You either wait it out and still contribute your 300 quid a year or you stand back and wait it out in NAPM fashion. Other than that there is nothing we can do. They will go one day and I'd rather my lad is still a rover and not some plastic fan of a 'big name club'. With respect your Grandfather and many others where fighting something tangible and we will owe them forever, we are 'fighting' thin air (I don't want to use fighting really as people gave lives in war this is just football).

Not if the players are booed as well. Still I can see your general point. To use an extreme example if one of the players punched a Rovers fan (referring more to general insults than racist abuse) would that be Venkys fault Abbey? No it wouldn't as the players have to carry some level of personal responsibility as does the manager. Kean deserved the vitriol he got (he deserved physical abuse as far as I'm concerned) but there was too much focus on him. I said so at the time and others came to the realisation in later years. There has to be a balance.

As for the protests you could argue people can do more but infighting amongst fans didn't help either. Neither did the poorly organised "committee" type setups. Admittedly I've sometimes called for illegal acts but haven't committed any myself barring being kicked out of Ewood for trespassing once. I've mentioned social anxiety and not really wanting the level of attention that comes from a major sole (or maybe within a small group) act of protest. I've expressed my belief that NAPM is meaningless and waiting for someone to takeover and foot the whole bill themselves. Of course NAPM or not they will most likely have to do that anyway but it would be nice for them to know others contributed financially. OK I haven't been much myself but its not NAPM. Its more lack of enthusiasm combined with my personal issues and disillusionment with football altogether. My relationship with other fans however has improved at least.

Maybe I live in the hope someone will go over to India and do something insane. Guess its a selfish wish though if you're not willing to do it yourself. Of course perhaps an allegation will be proven or they will do something that even the FA can't ignore.

You have to set an example to the younger fans and not just teach them to "roll over" to oppression. Right now if I had kids I would probably discourage them from any interest in football altogether.
