never realised Dack was a striker, but then you dont know one when you see one
Oh I see..... a little dig for my refusal to fawn over Stead and Rhodes I take it?

Anyway currently Dack's our leading scorer. What's your definition of a striker?

when i see someone quote wikishittypedia i give up,you know any fucker can write on it.
Is 'Collins' acceptable then?
https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/striker

How about this source........ https://www.thefreedictionary.com/Football+striker

My own definition would be anyone who plays in front of the midfielders.

Just as an aside..... using your definition who do you consider to be the striker at Liverpool? Mane? Firmino or Salah? I have them all down as strikers in my mind.

When in a hole waggy.............:p

Good line ups apart from BB. However Dack will need to earn his place.

If it were not for too many positive Covid tests and silly injuries we would have one hell of a team to pit out with plenty of strength in depth.

There is a possibility we could take this Division by storm.

There is the probability we will fizz, whimper and disappoint.

That’s Rovers for you.

Just done an Excel sort on the players wages here they are top to bottom. Viewing those three teams in the link it seems there is no place for some of our highest earners. Obviously Mulgrew doesn't figure but neither do Gallagher, Downing, Bennett, Evans and in two of those three teams Bradley Johnson doesn't fit either (personally I don't agree on that tbh). Obviously injuries and suspensions wreak havoc and they are needed but what a massive cost for players who aren't deemed worthy of a starting spot when a full squad is available. Not only that but one can see why some players might become discontented.

I am getting desperate for a Dack return. The Norwich game just showed the need for a real play maker in midfield. The last couple of games have also exposed Armstrong’s chances to conversions ratio. He scores all right but he should be battling a lot more.

I just hope Dack will be the same player.

Indeed and so am I BB. Our last 3 matches it seems to me that both Holtby and Armstrong have suffered a dip in form. Our only goal threat from midfield now rests with Joe Rothwell as Holtby doesn't even seem to be getting into the box as much as he was. If I was TM I'd be leaving him off the starting sheet for a few matches.
Armstrong on the other hand is finding his growing reputation is resulting in teams being set up to stop him, plus I think he's taken his eye off the ball from the priority of the team getting points and instead trying to stay at the top of the scoring charts. Something which I never saw in that other chap from Newcastle who played up top for us a few years back. ;)

Very true and I think that Arma will benefit from the return of Dack to give the opposing defenders somebody else to have to watch. It will be more difficult to have to mark two.

It's over a year now I think since he did it which seems an awful long time even for a cruciate. I rem Shearer had his cruciate op in California in early Jan and turned out as a sub at Newcastle the following August..... he scored as well. :D
