Bradley Orr

So despite intending to ignore the Under the Cosh podcast interview with Bradley Orr I finally gave it a listen. I really wish I hadn’t now, my blood is still boiling ten hours later! Full credit to him for attempting to rewrite history though and portray himself as a good guy, and his referring to a deceased chap as a maggot certainly shows his class. Let’s not forget that the Venkys appointed Singh to find out what was actually happening at the club and to investigate Orrs boss Kean. Little wonder Orr was awarded a new four year contract! Mind you as someone who believed that covid was made up and put up a copy of the Magna Carta on the front door of his business premises as a defence against breaking the law, what should we really expect?

You may have fooled a lot of folk now Bradley but you haven’t fooled me. If anyone is taken in by his BS then more fool them. Can anyone remember who his agent was whilst he was playing, I’m struggling to find it now?

Edit: I nearly forgot, he makes reference to someone throwing a cork cricket ball at Kean following the relegation Wigan match. He claims it came from thirty rows back in the stand so the finger of suspicion points at the JWU 😂. I hadn’t heard of this before and was wondering if anyone else had heard this tale or is it more BS?

It is a very emotive subject and I respect you for at least giving it a go.
The whole 12years has been a nightmare and we do seem to have settled into total apathy - which may well be part of the long term strategy.
I got quite a lot from Orrs account, because,as I have posted before I was privy to quite a lot of gossip and tales from the training ground at that time.
As I have said, a lot of it stacks up with the things I was hearing, so for me, it was very interesting.
I agree that he is hardly likely to paint himself as the villan ( but who would) and that overall my view on him hasn't eased to the point of liking him - but he did come across to me as giving an accurate account of the time
As for his four year contract- his manner tells the story - he knew it was wrong - but in the same position is there a single person who would baulk at the gift horse?

Haven't watched the interview and I remember it taking a while to unravel, but my understanding of what happened is:

1. The Walker Trust appointed Jerome Anderson to find a buyer, stipulating that they be financially sound (which is why that clown Ali Syed who nearly put Racing Santander out of business was rejected) but no other stipulations (e.g. knowing the first thing about football).
2. Anderson found Venkys, now whether he exploited the Walker Trust buyer requirements to find some gullible rich people, or that was just luck after he found them, I'm not sure.
3. At some point Anderson realised Venkys could be sold a complete fabrication on the state of the club (it was massively underperforming etc) to have himself put in charge.
4. Once in charge he engaged in massive corruption, signing only players and staff from his agency, with massive agents fees.
5. Obviously this meant Rovers getting poor players/manager and making relegation inevitable.

What really stood out to me when it all came out, is how 95% of the vitriol was at the wrong guy. Yeah Kean was a total prat, but he was a stooge, a fall guy. Jerome Anderson is the man responsible IMO, and if you want to go far enough back, what on earth were the Walker Trust doing hiring an agent to find a buyer? Did they not see the massive risk there, or were they just so desperate to offload Rovers by then. They let Jack and the rest of us down big time on that one.

The Walker trust and family have blood on their hands. They helped to flush their fathers dream down the toilet as they had no interest in Blackburn Rovers. I do laugh though when I think of all the sky millions they missed out on.
