Right I touched on the poor marketing of the Championship in this weeks review so given we have any number of business men in our ranks, no doubt quite a few marketing men and at least 7000 sales reps or ST holders if you prefer. So any ideas on how should the Championship market itself?
I'll start the ball rolling by suggesting a dedicated Championship TV Channel. Quest is fine but 2/3 minutes of highlights isn't enough is it (OK it was v QPR). There's no in depth club reporting either, no injury updates, no reporting on the various youth teams etc. Perhaps stand out edited matches could be shown at times through the week along the lines of the Premier League years.
Also might clubs offer two tier matchday tickets to visiting supporters along the lines of the now defunct pre match meal club that was in the DE hospitality area. There's certainly much scope for that at Ewood. The more discerning visiting supporters might easily accept an informal pre match meal and a half time and post time coffee / biscuits etc for perhaps a total of £60 per ticket with a seat away from the oiks in the DE JWU or even the DE Upper. I know I'd feel more like going away if I could sit down and watch matches from a stand on the side of other grounds and have a brew whilst the roads clear.
