How have Burnley managed to amass 12 this season. I could not see them hitting double figures.

I actually watched most of their game at City this evening. They were bloody awful and effectively surrendered at 3-0 down. The subs they brought on looked decidedly unenthusiastic shall we say whilst they were awaiting coming on to the pitch.
Pathetic.
Small town, small club and small ambition.

Well hang on a bit, it was the all star billionaires Man City wasn't it? Big Sam's pragmatic philosophy was to duck those matches and concentrate on beating relegation rivals.

Pragmatism is a close relation of negativity.

negativity? Reality more like. I recall heaving a sigh of relief when we were beaten by Sheff Utd last season with City lying in wait.

Hate to say it but disagree ODB. We'll see how small Burnley are again next season in the Championship. Last season they bought a £10m striker in January who sat on their bench.

Football is a game of short memories, which creates the fairly comical attitude around yo-yo clubs of people thinking their players, manager, Board, owners and whole set-up is the dog's bollocks one season (Sky Documentaries even making the "Mission to Burnley" series), to everything lacking ambition and being woeful the next season. It'll be back to admiration for Burnley when they're bossing the Championship next season I fear.

Burnley have done it, and are doing it, the exact way Rovers need to do it if we can find a Sean Dyche miracle worker to get that first promotion. Go up, don't spend, come back down loaded and spend, go up again, become a yo-yo club. Which is a lot better for the attendances, the club, the town, the pubs etc than being a long-term Championship club.

If b***ley were in the championship this season they wouldn’t win it. They’ve spent 100s of millions to achieve next to bottom in the premier league. I wouldn’t be using them as a shining example! They must be dreadful to watch week in week out.

Which is nice.

Dingles trying to play football above their abilities and getting sucker-punched. Hard to laugh at their plight when they are still light years ahead of us. Expecting another couple of wallopings from them next season if we're both in the Championship. :worried:

I didn't watch but all the stats are massively in Burnley's favour..... except the one that matters. :poop:

At least they look to have set a new premier league record for the fewest points gained at home in a season. Currently five points.

Possession..........33% Away 67%
Shots Home 0 ...............................................................Away 2
Shots on Target Home 0............................................ Away 1
Corners Home 0.............................................................Away 0

As long as the American investors get their financial return each season I don’t think they care which division b***ley are in. They haven’t put money into the club for nothing.

At least Craig Bellamy is being honest about b***leys chances of survival this season:

‘You might find it an issue but honestly, I don’t. We believe in this way of football. It might be naïve. I have a three-year-old girl who still believes in rainbows and unicorns. Maybe that’s with me. But I genuinely believe were going to stay up. Maybe I’m the one who believes in rainbows and unicorns.

And he is the b***ley coach!

🤣🤣🤣
