He said the organisation was chaotic with no apparent line of communication between different security and Police. The stand in front of him had “many 100’s of ticketless fans and the aisles were full of spectators”. He added that “there were many local French youths who were present hell bent on attacking and winding up the Police and that many of them gained entry.”

Now, I’m sure most of the Liverpool supporters who had a real tickets for yesterday’s game are normal behaving people who all have paid a lot to get there and to attend like your mate BB. But there seem to have been quite a lot of other people without a ticket who also traveled to Paris to be part of the atmosphere outside the stadium or if they are lucky find an even more expensive ticket for sale outside the stadium. That means you try your luck on the black market outside the arena. What can go wrong? I’m just speculating now but if a lot of people now bought fake tickets for a lot of money and then finds out at the turnstiles they have been fooled…they might be a bit upset and try to blame this on the safety guards instead, hence the bottle neck and big delays. Pity they ruin this day for the supporters with real tickets.

Correct Robin. Lets be honest it's not like they don't have form for that sort of thing is it?

Thinking back to the Rovers allowing Celtic fans to go over the turnstiles, to the 80's when LUFC fans used to be let into grounds to prevent trouble outside and even to Wembley in 2020 where ticketless England fans stormed into the stadium. Word gets around that this is acceptable and the wrong uns probably don't even try to buy a ticket, others will think well lets go and see if we can get in and it all escalates. Maybe if more police forces adopted the hard line tactics of the French police it would stop much of this. Rather like despatching a few migrants to the delights of life in Ruanda will do more to stop the channel crossings than anything else. As I've said for years letting em in just encourages more to do the same.

Good coverage on bt sports which I get free on iPhone and iPad from my EE phone contract. They show various games from the top leagues over Europe. Certainly preferable to watching manure v Brentford!

I see 4 policemen ended up in hospital last night because of violence by Warsaw fans. I must say when we played Krakow under Mark Hughes the security chaps there were huge, tooled up and terrifying. I think the football violence in Poland was well known and well catered for.
