Having just watched that again I don’t see a thing wrong with the Speedie penalty.
He did do the defender all ends up, before Walsh stepped across his path with his arms out.

Upper body fouls and the tendency of refs to let them go are my absolute pet hate in the modern game. Still play a bit myself as a defender and know all the tricks when beaten for pace or trickery by an attacking player. One arm across the chest to hold them back, quick grab of the shirt and then release, step across their running line.

They're all fouls and yet they're let go right, left and centre these days whilst the attackers counter-tricks (e.g. diving) are demonised. Its not fair and in my opinion is a big contributing factor for so many low scoring PL games outside the top 6.

Most thought it was 'soft' but it's quite revealing that neither Walsh nor his teammates complained or protested at the time it was awarded isn't it?

Did you come down with us in the tranny van ? Do you remember the Leicester fan offering everyone a fight and crying when he got cuffed or me hanging between two vans on the motorway blagging a warm beer of the city Billy Boswell ha...great great times.
The slumdogs can't take our memories.

No got on the coach from my local at the time pal, the Albion in Darwen. When we arrived at the ground I headed off with the ex wife to find beer. We got to a takeout and it must have had 200 lads queuing up. I sent the ex over with the money and she returned with the beer a short time later saying most of the lads had let her go before them. Nothing to do with the fact that she was a shapely blonde wearing little white shorts, all part of my plan of course!

That would have been funny watching you stood between two vans. I can remember going to one away game where as we got closer to the back of a Luton Transit (the one with big roll up door at the back) and two lads were stood at the back having a pee on the motorway at 70 mph! Crazy.
