Whilst waiting to go for a meal in Soho last night we ended up going in a gay bar ...before anyone says anything the straight pub was a tenner a pint and the gay one four quid and me being tight haha..
Anyhows I digress , me and the Mrs got chatting to this guy who asked where we was from and we said near Blackburn . He said oh i played there in the 80's for palace. I asked his name and it was Jerry Murphy and he was saying he was the first gay footballer so to speak even before Justin Fashanu. He asked if we knew it was a gay pub and I said it was cheaper than next door.
We ended up chatting about what it was like in football at that time and he bought us a beer . He also played 3 times for Ireland and played for Chelsea.
One of those surreal pub visits .

Indeed so dave. Football is much less violent these days. No tackles from the back and no showing of studs in a tackle either. Yellow cards for everything too.

btw Abbey..... did you take your own pint glass?

He also told us how El Tel knew and made sure it was kept quite and how he was glad he did with hindsight after what happened to Justin Fashunu
