Sounds like John Eustace will be announced today.

I don't know much about him other than he surprised everyone at Birmingham City when they were odds on favourite to go down. Believe he was sacked when Big Club were sat in sixth position in October. That went well, didn't it?

From what little I do know, he appears to be somebody who focuses on a solid defence. Just what we need considering the amount of goals we've shipped. I'm of the opinion that we have a good set of defenders at the club that need properly coaching in the brutal arts of defending, something I feel we've lacked since Tomasson walked through the door at Ewood.

On paper, it seems like a sensible appointment. Hopefully he can get us on an upward trajectory. The clear priority is to not go down or be dragged into a relegation scrap.

Good luck to John Eustace. There's quite a job on your hands, here!

Officially appointed as the new Head Coach on a two and a half year deal.

Time for the players to knuckle down and make up for the last two months. I hope the atmosphere isn't so toxic that it continues to affect the players. Eustace and the team are going to need full support to stop the slide.

I think one big advantage for Eustace is his experience in this league, having both played and coached in it for a long time, in spite of his tender age of 44. He surprised everybody at Birmingham City when he took the reins, so let's hope he can continue in that vain at Rovers. Lord knows we need it.

Not in terms of knowing this league. I think JDT was a rigid idealist in terms of how he wanted his team to play. I don't think he understood the value of player motivation and the fight and grit you need over here. Never came across at any point that the players were "up for it".

I hope he does well but I can't get over them selling the best player we have produced since Bryan Douglas and shoving the proceeds in their back pockets. The late submission of the McGuire stinks to high heaven. Once I can stomach, twice can be a coincidence but 3 times is not believable to me.

I'm surprised we gave Eustace two and a half years. Got nothing against him, and I do think he arrives as a sensible appointment, but I would have thought it might be a contract until the end of the season and then see how.

Nine games in a month coming up. We'll certainly know more by then if it was the right call.
