Now we have seen all our loan players start, what's peoples verdict on them.
Khadra looks a very good player I mentioned yesterday he could be a match winner.
Poveda looked terrible in his first two starts but was the starman yesterday.
Van Hecke looks decent, but hopefully is way behind Wharton in the pecking order.I find it hard to forgive his van dam moment on Wednesday.
Clarkson this lad has obvious talent but is too lightweight for the championship, it must be very hard for him atm,yet when I see pictures from Brockhall he is all smiles. I think his career is on hold at Ewood I'm sure he is better training at Mellwood with better players than turning out on our bench.

Agree on most of this
The one really refreshing thing for me has been that Clarkson hasn't played - it kills the idea that Klopp may have insisted he must. Truth is, like you say, he just looks too lightweight for the championship

I can remember him playing a pre season game for Liverpool and the reporter was raving about him. it makes a difference when you play with better players, and remember Sherwood could not play in the championship and he was a star in the premier.

Our latest game saw Poveda and Khadra start and Clarkson get a run as sub.The more I see Khadra the more I like him, he is great on the ball and can easily beat a man. He got a bit off a kicking from Bristol defenders, and at least once had a decent penalty shout. Should be a definite starter now.
Poveda was back to the pre Sheffield game ,hardly in the game and suffered a bad injury to several over zealous Bristol players. The officials are terrible in this league.
Clarkson came on and due to this our best player was sent to right wing back , he was neither outstanding or poor.I definitely think he is a footballer and even sitting on the bench for us,Klopp may think he will learn more here than in the under 23s at Liverpool. To be honest I would not be bothered if he went back to the pool.
Back to my bug bear that loan players take the place off our own , Dolan will be chomping on the bit ready for the game on Wednesday. Looks like Poveda maybe out a while.

It is and if I was Leeds I'd be fuming, he was surrounded by 4 Bristol players and the challenge that caused the injury belonged at Twickenham

I thought both Van Hecke and Khadra played very well yesterday, Van Hecke was outstanding and I hope he has learnt his lesson from the Fulham game.Khadra is a box of tricks and at the moment him or Dolan starting ,then one replaces the other in the second half seems to work well . I'm looking forward to seeing them both on the pitch at the same time.

Interesting one about Poveda. If he hadn't had that blinder against Sheff Utd I'd have been happy to see him go back to LUFC in January. In fact I'm sure most of us would have. So given that it's a long recovery period and not being heartless can we not cut short his loan spell and get a replacement in until the end of the season? Obviously he's welcome to recover here and use our facilities if necessary. Given our paucity of back up talent I'd send both him and Clarkson back and look for stronger replacements.

Talking about defenders further upfield, that Pickering lad likes to get in the opponents box doesn’t he?

Playing 3 centre halves enables the wing backs to push on doesn't it?

Well yesterday was very much a defenders day, and Van Hecke did not let us down he is improving every game, and is a no nonsense defender always in the heat of the battle. Khadra was a bit quieter than usual but what a peach of a cross for the goal, it looks like he and Dolan are fighting for the same position. Atm do you change a winning team.

Personally I'd be prepared to believe that Ayala is fit but that TM is intent on keeping him so should Lenihan leave. Plus the current three are playing like they've been together for years.

How good has Wharton been, I have a mate who is a Northampton fan and he could not believe Scott could not get in our team. Think we missed a trick for a couple of yrs, by loaning him out. Kevin Gallagher keeps calling him a young boy jeez he is 24, Dolan is young at 19.
