We've grabbed six points on very fine lines in the last two games. Our stoutness, ability to weather storms, and capitalise when it matters is paying dividends at the moment.
Wahlstedt
Schoolboy error for Millwall's goal. Players were somewhat confusing matters, but he should have collected the weak header comfortably. He was very steady thereafter, but, in fairness to our defence, he didn't have a great deal to do. He seems more aerially-able than Pears, but I think there are times when he could catch the ball instead of punching it.
Brittain
Man of the Match purely based on his belting winner. Generally very good. There were moments of defensive lapses down the flank.
Hill
Solid. Not on top of his passing game tonight, but he was good at defending the right-hand side of central defence.
Hyam
Noticed him hobbling a little towards the end of the half. Think it's a minor knock. Was otherwise very unnoticeable.
Carter
Good. I think he may have had a faulting hand in Millwall's goal (he isn't that great in the air), but he was a rock for us thereafter, particularly in the second half when Millwall battered us after we went ahead.
Pickering
Solid game. Blocked cross after cross in the second-half. He has been one of our most consistent players this season.
Tronstad
Very good yet again. Dependable in tackling and blocking, and player some simple but neat passes that progressed our play.
Sigurdsson
Poor. Couldn't beat his man and looked either tired or disinterested. Rightly subbed at half-time.
Szmodics
Quiet game, but busy as ever (does that make any sense?). Could have scored a third if not for a superb save onto the bar by Bialkowski. Got back when needed.
Rankin-Costello
On the scoresheet again, so he's doing something right, even if it was a lucky goal (call it evens for 'keeper blunders). I find him somewhat clumsy but strangely effective.
Dolan
A good game. Works hard as ever, but things are starting to come off a bit better lately. Starting to see his confidence coming back.
As for the subs
Moran
More dangerous than Sigurdsson. Hopefully he isn't out for too long, although he just came back from a knock.
S Wharton
Defensively OK, but very poor at playing the passing game. I can see why Tomasson doesn't fancy him. Think he might be off within the next two transfer windows.
A Wharton
Gave us a short reprieve from Millwall's pressure when he came on. Didn't put a foot wrong, and played some nice passes and with good control.
Ennis
Not enough time on the pitch to judge fairly, but I'll judge anyway. Didn't do a great job of providing an outlet for us. Managed to hold up a short corner in the corner for around two seconds before Millwall won a throw-in to attack.
Overall, I need to review my prediction strategy because it's garbage.
More than that, two very important, if unspectacular, wins have shunted us back up the table. Can we make it four wins on the bounce against Swansea?
