[Wilpshire Blue]

Hi Everyone

You might have noticed that roversfans.com now looks a little different.
On Monday evening (27th Jan) I upgraded to the latest version of the software that the forum runs on.

This was for two reasons:

1. We were getting a long way behind the current version of the software, which is never a good idea.
2. The developers of the forum software (Xenforo) were stopping support of the old version that we were on.

Apologies to anyone who was trying to access the site during the late evening on Monday 27th (UK time) but everything is now finished.

There will be some additional changes to the appearance of the site in the coming days / weeks but you can now feel free to post as usual.
I will post about any new features that aren't obvious on this thread.

Looks Ok but perhaps the blue / grey banner colours need adjusting WB to get a more 'Rovers' blue feel to it. Also it's kind of skewed to the left and off centre.

The new look is very nice. The grey header looks good too but Theno is correct about the lining up of the header needing adjusting.

Just as an update, I've changed the topmost section of the site (where the logo is) to be white instead of the blue/grey colour.
Happy to change it back again if that's the consensus - let me know!

White is miles better. I'd suggest that the blue writing on the banner might be better if it were the same colour as the bar directly underneath it.

If you just want 'new posts' steve then there is a link directly under 'Home'.

Must say the new mb has certainly grown on me as WB makes fine tweaks despite my usual grumpy objections these days to anything and everything new.

The problem with the writing on the logo section is that it's all part of a logo file done by someone else.
We could change it or even have a new logo but it's not as easy as the other colour changes.

I also wanted to mention that if you're looking at the new site on your phone, the logo gets squashed into the navigation bar when in portrait mode (i.e. holding your phone upright).
If you hold your phone sideways it looks fine, so that's another thing on my list

As of lunchtime today, we now have access to a much wider range of emoijis (the smiley face thingies)
Previously, we had access to just a handful but if you now click on the smiley face icon in the toolbar, you will see lots more - just scroll down.
Hopefully, this will allow everyone to express their feelings more completely!!

I’ve just added a squirrel emoji to a post on my iPad but didn’t think it would appear on the thread. To my delight it has.

In addition to the above change, the mobile phone view now has a properly-sized logo at the top (i.e. it looks pretty much the same as the normal site).
I think that's it for now but if anyone has anything they've noticed or feels could be changed, let me know.

I've now changed the blue in the logo to match the rest of the site.
If it hasn't changed when you look, that will be because your browser has cached the old logo in memory.
If you want to see the new logo you'll need to clear the cache, which is easy.
This is done differently depending on which browser you're using, so let me know if you're struggling (although google will probably help you out)

If anyone doesn't like the new logo, it can be changed back if there's a consensus.
