I was watching that but had to go out.
My son in law, who is staying with us at present, will be happy. He follows the Vikings with interest.
(he's currently out with his kids (2 and 4) in downtown Sydney)

the Vikings saints could be argued as one THE best play off games ever. I went to bed after and i was buzzing for ages after.

Yeah watched the highlights on Monday night, superb. Although what was the Saints..."defender" (still fairly new to the sport!) doing, bizarre catching attempt.

Is that it? Pretty average that! Any professional football goalkeeper would have been embarrassed NOT to have caught that!...... Oh and they wouldn't have fallen backwards over the line with it either! :D
On the plus side it really was one hellova pass to him. That guy threw it faster than I could kick it.

Only just got into it recently so Abbey might cut in with some glaring error I'm about to make but the tough bit about catches in the end zone is they don't count unless the ball is grasped securely and then both feet touch the ground before leaving the zone. I think that white bit at the end of the end zone is classed as out, so he had to catch that whilst concentrating on where his feet were, get his right down and then get his left down ultra quick before any part of his body touched the white area.

Thought Brady was out of this world in that 85-yard drive. First time I've seen him play and it felt a bit like watching Tugay!

Yes any movement is not under control and two feet need to be in bounds.
Brady is a cheating ball bag and they wouldn't have won if the refs hadn't given them 50 dodgy yards in pens in the late stages of the first half. Even the refs where congratulating them on scoring and the first thing Brady did was shake the hands of the ref at the end , its not normal in NFL. The entire patriots legacy is built on cheating. THing is hes one of the best but hes tainted. (im not ranting at your post btw just saying :p)

When I was in New York I asked some guys why they don’t have it on a Saturday when most folks don’t have to work the next morning.
They reckoned that many employers just accept that the day after Super Bowl is almost a write-off.
Seems strange to me

Another thing they showed me in one bar was a kind of Superbowl sweep-stake.
Big piece of card with a grid 0-9 across the top and 0-9 down the left.

You buy a square and if the final score of the Superbowl ends in your numbers, you win the pot. So if you have the square for 4 and 8 and the score is 14-28, you win.

They reckon every bar has one and offices etc. too.
This bar was charging $50 per square and the owner told me that he could have filled it two or three times over.
He also told me that there's at least one bar down near Wall Street where each square costs $100k.
