Feckin' hell, is that the first score I've predicted correctly this season?! 🥴

Pears
Poor kicking in the first half that put is in trouble on a few occasions, but later saved our skins to make up for it and contributed very well to the point. A good game, overall, and let's remember at such a young age, he's starting to look confident. That can only be good for Rovers.

Brittain
Awful first 40 minutes where everything he touched turned to shit, but more than made up for it throughout the rest of the game. Didn't give up, which is the important thing when you have a crap time (life lesson alert!), and ended up having a good game.

Hyam
Good to see him score from the Holy Grail - a corner! Was defensively solid. Had grown into the season after a very poor start from possibly not being fit enough. A close call between a few players for Man of the Match, but he gets it.

McFadzean
What a warrior this man is. Slight worry that this was a game too much for him having played so many full games in the last couple of weeks, but aside from getting caught out in the first half when Sargent should have made it two, he was solid and clearly marshalled the defence. He'll want to play against Nuke, but I'd really give the bloke a break.

Wharton
Solid. Part of a defence that didn't give the Canaries much of a sniff. Must keep the shirt and play ahead of a Premier League youth loanee. No doubt about it.

Hedges
From what little I saw, he mucked in defensively. A blow to lose him, but he walked off comfortably enough. Hopefully it's just a precaution and we'll hear good news.

Tronstad
Decent shot on goal in the first half. Held the fort well as usual. Decent game overall. Feel like a broken record when I report on him. Aside from a couple of games, he is utterly reliable.

Buckley
Felt the free-kick for Norwich's goal was a silly giveaway. Didn't get on the ball enough in the first half when I think Norwich were trying to put the game to bed. Had a very good second half until his understandable substitution. Passed nicely, positionally aware with experience, and put in some good tackles. Once he gets in his stride, he'll be our Adam Wharton replacement. Fingers crossed he holds up.

Szmodics
Congratulations on his newborn, first and foremost. He worked hard all game, but didn't get on the ball enough. Credit to Norwich where it's due for that. Suspect he may have had an all-nighter waiting for his new offspring.

Dolan
As with Szmodics, worked hard until his substitution, but didn't get on the ball enough.

Gallagher
Had a couple of good headers that looked certain as goals, but the excellent Gunn kept him out on both occasions. It's a myth that he "doesn't win his headers". The only commanding presence we have for a striker, and we need him for the rest of the season. Otherwise a difficult game when Norwich were coming here for a win.

As for the subs...

Pickering
Solid and steady. His usual recent self. Offered a good threat down the left, and was reliable at the back.

Moran
Didn't do anything bad, but didn't affect the game as well as the man he replaced - Buckley.

Sigurdsson
Did OK and mucked in with defensive work. Not sure how he fits into a Eustace team.

Overall, I'm happy with the point. Definitely one of the games where we could have easily lost had we tried to out-pass a technically superior squad that, let's not forget, beat us by a couple of goals at home last season. We look solid, if not spectacular and full of creativity. This is the type of game where I've been crying out for this, so I'm pleased.

Ironically, we move up to 16th, but are closer to the drop zone in terms of points. I think we are OK, however. The plus is not conceding 2-4 goals every game and seeing our confidence drop through the floor. We're digging in well and I think we'll be OK.

Look at the team though. It’s lost every bit of a one you h type players over the last couple of years.

Not sure on JEs tactics either, we are a hard watch at the moment, not really enjoyable.
To be honest, the last ten games of JDT wasn't that enjoyable either to watch. You can´t have a manager that ignores the fact that he doesn't have the players to play the kind of football he wants. It will ruin the players self confidence and morale and we see the result of that now. They look lost and it will take time to change this around.
On the other hand, most of the signings/loans the management made are low quality players. Most of them doesn't even look to able to make an impact as a sub. Whatever happened to Billy the Kid from Liverpool? Has not played one minute in the team since he arrived.

I do not know if Eustace is the answer in a long term but I think the defending looks a bit improved and he is picking up important points. If we look at the games in March there are some really important games that needs to be won.

Barged straight into Wharton - Old fashioned intimidation tactics

Norwich were planning a late raid - they had done their homework and knew we wilt towards the end
One positive of our "new" style of play should be we can grab a breather during games (long ball) and save tearing up and down quite as much, so, in theory we should see the 95mins out better

Happy with a draw tbh but these extended highlights from Norwich suggest that we had the better of the chances.

If gally had managed to follow the age old strikers advice to head the ball to the side that the keeper is coming from he could have two goals to his name today.

We could have done with him this season. I'd wager we'd be in a better position now.

Talks cheap ODB. Barnes could have been be a poor man's David Speedie for us. I rem plenty didn't want him at Brfc.

Hmm let me see Barnes up top and Barton in the middle behind him! It would have been like Sparky's Blackeye Rovers all over again. Just think if we had a Tardis and teamed up Neil, Todd, Keeley and Le Saux, with Savage, Barton, Travis and EHD in the middle just behind Speedie and Barnes. They'd win more than they'd lose I'd wager. :)

I suspect every game would have been abandoned after we had four sent off!
