With the £400,000 from Fisher plus Sky money it might be an opportunity to keep our contract stallers and nudge them into signing maybe just a short term contract?
As for TV appearances and our record, I might start doing a little bit of research and consult the evidence as to whether it’s a help or a hindrance.

Interestingly I’ve just checked the first 3 seasons of the Premiership 1992-1995, our Golden Age, and we were on TV 25 times winning 9, 7 draws and 9 defeats so not too badly then.
It may take some time to check the rest!

That is pretty bad for that era, considering we were winning most games around then.
Mind you it means we were undefeated in 64% of televised games!
We lost to ManU 4 times, Liverpool twice, West Ham, City and Spurs.
The next 4 seasons up to May 1999 show how televised games have not been good for us. Out of 21 matches we only won 2, drew 7 and lost 12.
I’ve not even included our Champions League experience or the Trelleborgs debacle! So even at this stage a tentative conclusion is that the evidence doesn’t look great for success in televised games!
I will now have a look at the last 10 years or so and see what our Championship appearances have been like!

I watch Sky Sports via a NowTv subscription and I just noticed that they do offer a monthly pass at £33.99 which might be of interest to those without Sky.
If you were to buy one on say next Tuesday you could watch Hull, Boro,Swansea, Forest and West Brom within that month plus obviously all the Premiership action and all the other Sports channels. You can cancel at any time.
The only issue is the Forest game which is on the Sky Red Button which I can’t seem to get.
However, in light of yesterday’s fiasco at least you are guaranteed good coverage.
Just thought I’d mention it!

It must be unprecedented in Rovers recent history that we’ve featured so often on Sky for live coverage. With the next 3 games coming up live on TV that makes it 8 out of the last 9 on Sky.
So far from the first 5 games W1 D1 L3 F1 A5. Not the best. We now have 3 difficult games against Sheff Utd, QPR and Fulham. Will the curse of the TV strike us? I’d be happy with 4 points or am I being pessimistic?
