We will soon see how importantly they view the matter.
Will they tell the EU to stuff the £48bn and manage (and leave) without it?
If they don't or can't then I'm afraid they are going to have to back down.

Poland's economy could overtake France's in a decade or so. After being entrapped within the totalitarian Soviet regime for almost half a century, it will be difficult for the diligent and enterprising Poles, to be fettered within a politically, legal and economically statist, and sclerotic EU, for too long.

Basically means you hand over authority to foreign nations.
What's that about?
Poland just seem to have realised that the ECJ has the power over and above sovereign nation legislation. The ECJ was brought in by stealth and its powers were then endorsed by the European Commission. This is about a super state that overrules sovereign nations. Thank goodness we escaped, the alternative was rule from Brussels, not by the European Parliament (who are largely toothless) but by the EC using the ECJ as their enforcer.

No wonder Ursula Von DooDar is going in so hard against Poland for upsetting the European dream apple cart.

For the Single Market, free movement of persons and goods etc to function effectively, EU law must prevail over domestic law. While it's euphemistically referred to as the 'pooling of sovereignty', there isn't really an alternative to maintain order. It makes sense if a population votes to surrender its independence. Despite itself, the Norwegian elite realise they could never railroad the country, with its vast oil reserves, into such an arrangement. There were honest voices at the time Britain joined the EEC, such as Labour's Hugh Gaitskell, warning that it would undermine “a thousand years of history”. Britain's elites brought it into the fold, all the same, and subsequently presented the voters with a fait accompli when the they finally got around to holding a referendum.

Edit: It entirely made sense to join the EEC in the way the argument was put to the British voters. However, the entire premise was built on a legal fiction. Gaitskell was right!

Final straw for me was the European army suggestion. That would never have worked.

Funny you mention that. I was chatting to someone today who’s nephew is in the army. Apparently we would send all our recruits to join a European army, pay £35 billion a year towards said army but would have no say over where it went or what it did?
Where these stupid remainers aware of this?

I thought Italy would be the next to withdraw. Hopefully the EU will fall apart.

Italy and France before Poland. Poland takes too much from the richer nations to walk away.
Spot on BB. They get loads of money from the richer states in the EU and they do not give much in return so no, i don´t think they will leave at any time very soon. They have way too much to lose.

I doubt it will be a fine as much as a withholding of funding. Lets be honest the nation most likely to kick up about the finances now that we are out are the Germans.

I’d forgotten about the previous fine of 500,000 euros per day which Poland have so far refused to pay. I always took the Poles as a proud hard nation, surely they can’t tolerate this rubbish much longer?

A lot of them are pro-EU due to freedom of movement. If they had a leave poll it would probably be 😞
